My decision making process regarding social and economic issues.

I don't think people understand that when I support issues, I generally support certain things because of research and my own observations/experiences. I also weigh the benefits and risk of an outcome and if the benefits outweigh the risk, I'll support it.

I actually make decisions that way that are non political too.

It's others who decide that things are left or right but if the things that I mostly support are leftist, then so be it.

That's generally how I've arrived at my positions. I consider myself a leftist because most of my positions fall there. I've never looked at a list of positions I should hold as X. It's also why the bucket I fit into has evolved over time. I have changed positions based on new information.
