@Bexsy I said nothing about your “coffee”. I was talking about mine.
@SW-User so you did.

Put a large roasting hen in the crockpot and cook it for about 6 hours with herbs and garlic, can add potatoes, carrots etc about halfway through. Takes quite a while to cook but saves me a lot of time in the kitchen. And a really large hen that fills the crockpot can make at least two good meals.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Bexsy My mom used to make a chicken casserole with a cut up chicken she rolled in seasoned flour and browned. Would put it in a large casserole dish and cut up potatoes, carrots and an onion, pour a can of mushroom soup and some milk on it and bake it for about an hour or so. It was so good. I have made a gluten-free version by making my own condensed mushroom soup and it tasted like the real thing.
@cherokeepatti I'm going to try this
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Bexsy If you like carrots and potatoes you will love it. She would make it on Sundays in the winter.

I have one of those manual carpet sweepers. Nice when you dont want to do a full on vacuum but have little bits that need picking up. Looks like i did a full vacuum after a quick sweep

When pressed for time, I turn the clock back. Right now, it is yesterday for me. I'm thinking I will eventually be last year and a year younger.

I just move my body efficiently. Takes less steps if you visualize your entire task step by step and everything just lines up.

Brushing teeth in shower
fun4us2b · M
Since you mentioned vacuuming, I use a shop vac on the outside patio and driveway areas instead of sweeping or even worse blowing which just pushes dirt and debris from one place to the other - it looks great afterwards...
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@fun4us2b If you have a large wet-vac and you need cold air you can put a large bag of ice in the bottom (make sure it’s clean inside first) and take the hose off and put it on the other side. Will blow cold air and cool you down quickly. Saw this on a video by That 40 Year Guy. He put the hose under his shirt and laughed , was standing in his garage at the time.
fun4us2b · M
@cherokeepatti That's a great trick 😅
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@fun4us2b I thought it was one of his best short videos. Who doesn’t want to cool off quickly when you working in the garage? Could even take your wet-vac to a cabin and do this ice if you have electricity and a refrigerator (but no a/c)….just have to tolerate the noise.

I brush my teeth 14 times every Sunday morning, and that covers me until the next week Sunday

SW-User
@UpsideOutInsideDown yes but do you brush them in the shower ?
UpsideOutInsideDown · 41-45, M
@SW-User no, I get all my showers out of the way on new year's day. Just spend the whole day in there, and I'm sorted for the year

I clean my walls, my shower, and my floors all on the same day (I use the same mop but different heads and different water).
@DearAmbellina2113 oh, smart idea!

SW-User
@DearAmbellina2113 you mop your walls 🤯
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@SW-User yes lol

Read your work emails in batches. Once when you get in, a second at a time you set aside in the day, and fifteen minutes before you leave. Do not read them at home.
Delete nearly all.
Act immediately on those from your line manager, or essential.
People will get back to you, if you have missed an urgent one. It never happens.

Well I'll start the vegetables and rice first before cooking the meat so those are finished cooking by the time the steak is done, I know it's not a hack just good time management
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Good one! That makes those things now so you can't get in the grooves of the sliding mechanism.
@JimboSaturn they make them so hard to clean
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@Bexsy I know! I think I would have to actually unscrew this track thing to clean underneath it! grrr....
originnone · 61-69, M
I still have a lint lizard I used to vacuum dryer lint that gets by the filter. I use a plastic gutter scraper on the end of a paint roller extender to kill spotted lantern flies that are high in the trees. I use a tree and a trellis off the deck for a clothes line and hang close out to dry on it....

crumby crisper drawers? what is a fridge crisper drawer? 🤣
I don't remember if I have any time-saving hacks... maybe I'll think of one in the distant future and remember this post and be disappointed that I wasn't able to comment that here now... unless my future time-saving hack is a time-machine, then I'll edit this

@MartinTheFirst don't you ever get debris that randomly fall under drawers in refrigerator?
