Is there a way to get someone their birth certificate? i know this lady in my area thats been...

This is such a kind act... well done.. I think there maybe a few ways, but since Im not American I might be wring about it..

1. Online

2. Some NGO's might help..

3. the county courthouse of where she was born...

4. The hospital that she was born in might be able to help...

Check with DNC.
If they can get dead people to vote, a birth certificate for a live person should be easy.

If she can’t recover her BC, then she can petition the state where she was born for a new one. She will have to answer some questions

You can get them online. I think that's about the only way to get them these days. Does she know where she was born?

Sure, I had to get mine. If necessary she could use your address, but you can also opt to pick up the certificate at the issuing office.

I think you could have the homeless person use an online way to order one. Let her fill it out and someone else can pay for it.

Social workers know how to do that. They have them here trying to help the homeless to keep them from camping outside so they can get on a housing waiting list and other things but probably 40% of them are not wanting to cooperate in getting permanent housing or even getting their documents.

I got my birth certificate by going online, and ordering it from the state where I was born. You have to have a mailing address, such as a P.O Box, and you have to send money...usually about $25.00.

The dept of health in the state where someone was born can give a person a birth certificate, or an official copy.
They might charge a few dollars, maybe not.

Usually agencies can help with that. Or you can help her directly by taking her to get it. She'd need the appropriate ID.. Online as well.

In some states a homeless person can get a free copy of their birth certificate from the local registrar or that of the person’s birth county, if it’s the same state. In some cases an affidavit confirming that the person is homeless is required.
