I believe we have real free will, not a fully pre-scripted life. I do think there are things we’re born into or run into that shape us, like family, biology, timing, suffering, opportunity, and other people’s choices. But those things influence us, they do not erase our agency. So no, I don’t think life is just pre-destined in the sense that every outcome is fixed. I think we are accountable for what we choose within the reality we’ve been given.

I'd say the future is always in motion. We have free will
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
I believe in both. I think God has over all plans for our lives and they are good plans. He knows what will happen but humans have free will to make different choices - which we have to be accountable for - that will ultimately steer us around within God's ultimate plan. I like the analogy of the play writer, who knows the plot and then we as actors choose the lines.

"Believe" isn't the word I would choose, but the theory that best fits the existing data is that the universe is fundamentally random at the quantum level. This means there are effects without causes. Not hidden causes waiting to be understood, but true fundamental randomness. I don't like it, but it's the theory that best fits the data.

I believe God has Foreknowledge of all history ( that includes the future ) and i believe we humans have free will...

"Of course we have free will because we have no choice but to have it."
Bleak · 36-40, F
I don’t see it as either. There’s a bigger decree over everything, but within that, we still have free will and make meaningful choices. Both exist together.

I believe that WE engineer MOST our own outcomes...whether intentionally or unintentionally. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction in the universe...and we spend a lot of time paying the price for our inability to think ahead, or foresee what those consequences might be!
We have no control over outcomes that drag us in to them, but are engineered by other people.

Free will, of course. Prior causation didn't force me to type this.
