Momma and Daddy.

My Aunt Dorothy and my older cousin, Jeannie, who was close to my brother's age. I still remember that I wanted to be as KIND and SWEET as my Aunt Dorothy, and as CLEVER as my cousin Jeannie who was so good at sewing and all the home arts.

My parents. 🩷

My younger sister. (By 18 months)

She was never afraid of speaking her mind and standing up to our mom.

@AwesomusPrime even when she hit me over the head with a nes controller so hard I bled throughout the night (and still have a scar I can feel with my fingers) I never stopped loving and admiring my little sis.

@TheRealBarbossa Physical scars heal. Not enough to break a strong blood bond. Hope you and sis remain close

@AwesomusPrime we're best friends. Also, I'm the godparent to her first born, her 2nd being born was enough to make me move home without even quitting my job abroad first, and the 3rd I had the honor of welcoming into the world as she was born.

If we weren't siblings, I'd still trust her with my life. She's also the only one i trust enough to catsit when I have to be elseqhere over night.

Two older cousins. We were raised like siblings. We lived a huge portion of our childhood in the same houses(diff apartments).

I remember a woman cop who was the mother of a friend of mine.
She was a woman ahead of her time.

Not really. A roll model is someone you admire and might want to emulate. I don't remember growing up looking at anyone quite like that. I looked at most adults as people I liked, didn't like or was indifferent to. I don't even think roll model was a term when I grew up.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@MoveAlong I think the best roll model is a custard danish.
@basilfawlty89 now Im hungry. LOL
AwesomusPrime · 36-40, M
None. It is why the relationship with my family was tumultuous.

not exactly but i loved my grandma and thought my uncles were the coolest .. i think a person's parents are their role models for better or worse too they have great measure of influence on their children
AdmiralPrune · 41-45, M
While it might seem odd to mix a British war hero with a German sportsman, mine were Guy Gibson and Michael Schumacher.

Two imperfect men who did perfect things.
Everyone has more role models than we can count.
Even fictional characters are role models. Everyone we know is a role model.
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
My dad, and my maternal grandfather.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
Not good ones. My mom was rad but also locked in an abused mindset that eventually destroyed her. Aside from that, alone with nature was where I spent most of my time observing and playing.
Cigarguys · 41-45, C

No I didn't. No one ever held up to my standards for being a role model. ☹
