@being I play piano. I can also play flute, clarinet and harp but piano is my thing. I have several binders and books full of sheet music. I’ve been collecting since I was a kid

@Jenny1234 That's awesome. I've collected some 1920s - 40s sheet music. My collection wouldnt fill one binder, but I snag the random piece here and there when I see one that interests me. I do play the piano, but not...fluently, I have to work at a piece until it's perfected. I also mess around a bit on the alto sax, the slide guitar, and need to get started on the cello that I've had for a couple years now.

@masterofyou I'm sorry you lost money in SVB. That affected so many. With the state of affairs in this county, and where they look like they're going, I think most of us are more frugal as a whole.

@LadyBronte I never lost any money in any bank.... I just know many have ..... I think everyone should put atleast 10 % of their money in gold.... I believe the Fed knows more than they say in their ecomnomic report when they lowered rates 50 basis points...I think we are heading into a resession.....

@AllAboutLaffs Thanks. Yeah, a multipurpose should be a starting point, but I also enjoy the night sky which would require one a bit different than needed for wildlife in a field. I am thinking of enrolling in a class in the city. I'm self-taught, and while I am happy with the clarity/ perspective /etc. of my images, I could be better.

And just shoot .... alot .... that's how we learn. And memory cards are so much cheaper than film.

@AllAboutLaffs There's nothing available in my area, I do have to drive a couple of hours to find one worthwhile. I actually don't post photos here. Just a personal choice.

@LadyBronte I don’t design nearly as much because I’m not in the retail business anymore. I do help friends with advise for their wives or girlfriends. Everyone has a budget. The goal is simply to make a splash with what you can afford.

Now, if I’m in a shop and I can see there’s someone there with an eye, I’ve had them make something in the past.

@meggie Why would your partner care??? If you are not hungry you are not hungry. Sadly I am a little overweight. 🙁 Both my dad and his mother both had to take a pill for their blood sugar as they got older. Sadly I am a good ten years younger than them and I had to start taking a pill this year. I have changed my diet and started walking more. Now my sugar numbers are back in line. I have lost 35 pounds and dropped two pant sizes.

@Musicman For example, if I find shoes that fit, look great and seem to be made really well, I'm buying them even if they are far more expansive than I originally planned to pay. It's so rare now to find such shoes that I just know I would regret not buying them. Also, I have a rule that I'm not paying as much for synthetic materials as I would normally pay for leather, unless the materials have specific properties, like for example it's with hiking shoes.

With food, if I already know that a certain brand of ham is significantly better than other cheaper brands, I'm going to buy it regardless of the price. But if I don't know that, I reach out for cheaper ones because I don't want to risk spending more money only to find out that I don't like it.

@SW-User Sadly I just sold my pride and joy. It was my retirement present. A 2012 Mercedes E350. My wife is handicapped and hasn't been able to get in and out of it the past couple of years so I let it go. The family car is a Lincoln MKX.

I am at a local diner right now. I just ordered a ham and cheese omelette wrap, and grits.

I feel like a hobbit, since this is my second breakfast. I had to get up really early to bring my car in for routine service. I had a roast beef sandwich at home before I left. The car is fine, and now I will eat again!

@scorpiolovedeep Through the years I have purchased decorative things I love. These days, unless something truly spectacular stops me in my tracks, (and that hasn't happened in years), I don't pay much attention. I enjoy looking at jewelry but I can't tell you the last time I purchased.

Same for decorative items.

I like the small glass kinda things...dolphins, fishes , birds etc.
