We have and are failing

We as Americans, have and continue to fail our moral and ethical obligations to our founding fathers, to ourselves and to the future generations of Americans. We have failed them miserably by overlooking, ignoring and refusing to take action against our elected officials, politicians, judges, law enforcement , government employees and anyone in a position of public trust for crimes against our Constitution and against our fellow Americans for bribery, kick backs, obstruction of justice, perjury, assault, intimidation, operating criminal enterprise, wire fraud, bid rigging, collusion, falsifying documents, misuse of public funds, and a whole slew of other violations of laws and public trust.

We have failed them miserably by letting the government take and limit more and more of our constitutional rights with out protesting and demanding to vote on the issues. With allowing them to secretly pass bills and laws into effect behind closed doors. By allowing private industry and individuals to give money, favors and a variety of perks and positions in order to Influance , alter , restrain , overlook, exempt , intimidate and sway laws and regulations to their benefit regardless of moral and legal implications. And by not limiting the amount of campaign contributions and the amount permitted for each candidate to be spend on their campaigns.

We have also failed them by tolerating the intolerant to the point of silencing public outcries and public debate in fear of offending a group by exposing their agenda and intentions in the name of politically correctness.

As well as failing them by permitting and overlooking illegal immigration , by allowing them to remain in America with no intentions of assimilating into society or declaring their allegiance to America. And by giving them tax payer benefits that they have no right to receive. And by allowing them to vote.

And failed them by permitting a government take power that no longer has the interest or desire to do what is best for its citizens. And by not watching, protecting and insuring the integrity of the greatest government/ citizen contract ever written. I am concerned that it may be to late to save it. Lord knows voting makes no difference .

To all our veterans for your invaluable and selfless service and all our first responders and law enforcement THANK YOU!!!

Bless us all for America is truly in a time of crisis at a very pivotal point in history.

A proud but discouraged American.

Trump stood before us and the world and sided with Putin over our Allies and our intel agencies.
That alone makes him a traitor. His J6 BS and trying to overturn the election is just the icing on the cake.
BTW, his cadre of classified docs he was hiding at Mira Lago showed that approx. 17 empty file folders. What happened to those classified files?
@goodlil666 says, of Hunter Biden,
Go look at his and his sons dealings with China and the Ukraine .
Hunter was a businessman doing business. Where is the treason in that?

Remember when Hunter Biden used the White House to find lenders for his personal financial projects. And Hunter Biden gained 41 trademarks in China. And Hunter Biden got $640 million in outside income while working in his father's administration. And Hunter Biden negotiated a $2 billion personal real estate deal with a foreign government during his father's admin. Yeah, some of that definitely sounds illegal as hell - how could he possibly have gotten away with all that??

Oh, wait, that was Ivanka Trump & Jared Kushner, my bad!!!

@ElwoodBlues my corrupt nepotism is better than your corrupt nepotism.

Thats where statists are now. And they will still vote what they perceive as the lesser of 2 evils.......you are still voting for evil.
@gol979 It ain't about the nepotism, dude. It's about the attempts to prevent the transition of power, especially the seven slates of false electors; it's about the 34 felony convictions and the many other felony charges pending; it's about the long history of corruption; it's about the deadly incompetence in handling Covid; it's about the pathological narcissism and unfitness for high office.

Don't take MY word about his unfitness; ask his advisors!!

We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society.” — June 3, 2020

Mark Esper, Secretary of Defense

So true and of utmost concern. Something needs to change all current players need to be ousted. Elections are proving ineffective. Only term limits maximum age for government positions; and elected office especially (forced retirement at a given age) and in general shaking everything up will be effective. Otherwise get ready for more of the same.
jehova · 31-35, M
@goodlil666 political party and wwii aged politicians helps no one. only new faces and fresh approach will alter our course. Its a new millenia senior citizens need to retire and let the next generstion fix what they broke. Vote for anyone new/not an establishment player. Set us free.
jehova · 31-35, M
@goodlil666 also making specific examples only pissess off half of viewers; ending progress. So generalities that are undeniable is better and less flawed.
goodlil666 · 51-55, MVIP
@jehova For the purpose of this discussion that's kind of along the lines I was thinking.
goodlil666 · 51-55, MVIP
@Vin53 Stop with your holier than thou attitude. You seem to forget that the majority of the developed world at that time for hundreds of years was involved deeply in the slave trade. You can not judge men or society by the moral or ethical standards of modern times to standards and practices of what was a perfectly normal part of society and industry in their time.
Your right it reveals that I am intelligent enough to see the difference in societies beliefs then and now and realize it's not my place to judge them. Compared to the " woke" crowd like yourself that think you have some right to judge others by your standards.
And if you really felt so strongly about them being " evil" you would disown any and everything they had anything to do with . That is very telling of the self righteous, condescending, know it all people like you. Just saying
.

How is it so hard for you to comprehend that different times have different moral and ethical standards.
How hard is it for YOU to comprehend that some things are always wrong? Slavery is one of them.

And failed them by living beyond the means of the nation until every man, woman and child who is a citizen owes close to $100,000 to some overseas government for goods and service that Americans has already consumed and are adding $ Trillions every year to that amount..😷
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@goodlil666 I agree with you. And I agree with Jefferson. Its the definition of Tyrant that needs to be closely watched. It is a fact of modern society that a "war" doesnt have to mean bullets and bombs. The Japanese actually had that idea in Asia before WW2 and it was the American trade embargo that turned them to all out war. (Yes I know they were fighting in China before, but that was relatively localized) Then Japan succeeded the second time in the 60s with American tools and better ideas and won that economic war, becoming an international power. Now the Chinese will take the globe with it. Economic Warfare is cheaper and less disruptive to markets..
So equally revolutions dont have to be fought with guns. They can be fought by people deciding there is a better way and taking it for themselves and for their families. Whether its different food, different transport or different schools. But the people need to make those decisions..Because the governments are being bought..😷
goodlil666 · 51-55, MVIP
@whowasthatmaskedman True they don't but.. sometimes that's the only answer.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@goodlil666 I agree, as a last resort..And if it comes to that, you cant afford to leave the matter undecided..😷

Look in the mirror. 'We the People' get the government we deserve because WE voted for them. We put them there!

Voter apathy is part of it. Texas leads the nation in voter apathy.

Single issue voters is another. God/guns/gays/abortion...etc.

Voting against your best interests and being uninformed of truth and facts, are another. It can become exhausting trying to get the truth and the facts from mendacity and deceit.

Look at Congress. They refuse to pass legislation that the vast majority of Americans support!

Today, there is one party, though far from perfect, who support the Constitution, democracy and the rule of law. The opposition party spreads hate and fear, and wants to turn the nation into a Christian Authoritarian Fascist State. Read Project 2025.

The ONLY options we have are inside the voting booth. The founding fathers set up our nation this way.

The States have individual legislative bodies, and each state wields power over the appointment of judges, and so on.

Never let it be said that the states want their inner workings to be known to the voters. Even the feds attempt to pass their sneaky bills after midnight when all the republicans have gone home.

Corrupt politicians don't WANT their voters to see how the sausage is made.

I love what you have written here.
The Truth.
Where will it all end?
Misery for a greater percentage of bona-fide American citizens
The affluent will disregard and shun the "average Joe and Jane", as they do now, for the most part.
Look at that disgraceful institution - Hollywood.
Homelessness will become wide spread. There will be many no go zones all over the United States because of the perceived criminal behaviour of the homeless/vagrants.
I really feel for those being left behind and trampled on.
Is there a solution? Not that I can see. 😟
@Gusman says
Look at that disgraceful institution - Hollywood.
Ya know, you just might be wrong about that. You just might be wrong about who worked their way up out of poverty and who was born with silver spoons.

George Clooney said
'Here’s the thing: I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door-to-door. I sold ladies’ shoes. I worked at an all-night liquor store. I would buy suits that were too big and too long and cut the bottom of the pants off to make ties so I’d have a tie to go on job interviews. I grew up understanding what it was like to not have health insurance for eight years. So this idea that I’m somehow the “Hollywood elite” and this guy who takes a sh1t in a gold toilet is somehow the man of the people is laughable. People in Hollywood, for the most part, are people from the Midwest who moved to Hollywood to have a career. So this idea of “coastal elites” living in a bubble is ridiculous. Who lives in a bigger bubble? He lives in a gold tower and has twelve people in his company. He doesn’t run a corporation of hundreds of thousands of people he employs and takes care of. He ran a company of twelve people! When you direct a film you have seven different unions all wanting different things, you have to find consensus with all of them, and you have to get them moving in the same direction. He’s never had to do any of that kind of stuff. I just look at it and I laugh when I see him say “Hollywood elite.” Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! F¢¢k you!'

@ElwoodBlues Go start your own post if you insist on whining about Trump or Biden. That's not what this post is about.

Those problems will continue and probably escalate until we get TERM LIMITS! Then these politicians will not have time to build their criminal empires! And, the special interests that bribe them won't do it because they are not in office for long!
goodlil666 · 51-55, MVIP
@LordShadowfire I don't know why you are still here, I am not accusing Biden of anything other than the first few minutes I started to.let this post get redirected and hijacked into a Trump/Biden debate.

My last comment about them just stated that neither one of them are a part of the solution we need.

And I blocked you. So whatever connections you have to over ride that shows how disrespectful you are and you think you shouldn't be subject to the same rules as the rest of us. And that makes you just like your hero Trump , the rules don't apply to you! Good going showing your true colors . It's people just like you that are the reason this country is in such a mess.

We owe no fealty to men who participated and abetted the owning of human beings as slaves and who didn't consider women to have any rights.

@goodlil666 I certainly respect the constitution but the men who wrote it were just fine and dandy with owning people to do their work for them. its cut and dried thats evil. Your inability to come to terms with that is quite revealing.

An outsourcing of blame . . easier than actually taking positive action to right wrongs and improve society.

Do you agree that neglecting to take decisive action on climate change may be interpreted as a failure of obligations to future generstions?

@SunshineGirl This topic is not about climate change , go start your own post if you want to debate that.

@luckranger71 This is not a post about Trump or Biden . So unless you have something relevant to add to the discussion . Move along.

@goodlil666 I've added more relevance in a few sentences than in multi-paragraphs of your drivel. Stop using words like "traitor" that you don't understand. Maybe you'll have something to contribute at some point with a little humility.

@jehova How am I preach by pointing out some of the issues facing America today that are leading to more and more attacks on our civil rights and loss of our personal freedoms and that are protecting the Rick and corrupt while strangling the middle class . Haven't seen you comment or make any suggestions to help change those issues. Go join your buddies that continue to try to change the topic of this discussion and or try to make it a personal issue with me. Get a life and stop living on trying to create conflict.
