Is that why you can't understand him?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Joseph8284 trump doesn't even understand himself.
He has a selection of stock phrases that he tosses out and if the reaction isn't quite right he simply tries another one.
He has basic rules that keep him safe from discovery e.g. no details (never offer details): push anything deliverable as far into the future as possible and even then keep it vague: steal the credit for other people's work and blame others for your own incompetence and failures: never give a lengthy, comprehensive, answer - dodge and weave at all times.
And remember - never any details

@sunsporter1649 and the relevance to this post, and indeed to 2025, is..?

Says a whole lot more about his audience expectations...

Former President Donald Trump is often noted for his speaking style, which some analyses suggest operates at a 4th to 6th grade reading level. This characteristic is defined by several key aspects:

Simplicity of Vocabulary

Trump frequently uses basic words and phrases, opting for straightforward language that can be easily understood by a wide audience.
Short Sentences

His sentences tend to be concise, avoiding complex structures that might confuse listeners.

Repetition

Trump often repeats key phrases or slogans, which not only makes his points clearer but also aids in memorability.

Directness

His communication style is typically direct and unambiguous, which can resonate well with his supporters and create a sense of urgency or enthusiasm.

These elements contribute to his distinctive approach to public speaking and media interaction.

Me:
So his audience expectations are very limited.
.
GPT-4o mini

Yes, Trump's communication style suggests that his audience expectations may be tailored to a broader, more general demographic.

Factors Influencing Audience Expectations
1. Accessibility

By speaking at a lower reading level, he makes his messages accessible to a wider range of people, including those who may not have advanced education.

2. Engagement

Keeping language simple allows for quick engagement; audiences can easily grasp his points without requiring deep analysis.

3. Emotional Connection

His style often relies on emotional appeal rather than complex arguments, resonating with audiences on a personal level.

Conclusion

This approach likely reflects an understanding of what resonates with his supporters, emphasizing clarity and directness over nuanced or complex rhetoric.

@Roundandroundwego I truly believe you are. You see I grew up in that culture. Plenty in my about me to prove it.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Roundandroundwego a testament to daddy's money and influence.
I wonder what was 'donated.
It would have been a bigly gift because nobody knows more about gifting than King Donald, nobody in the whole world thing, and in fact the gifting experts are amazed and they say 'Sir, how come you know so much about gifting, more than even us?' And perhaps it's because he's a stable genius and he even read that on a postal note written using a sharpie or a crayon or whatever those things are called - writing sticks? - There are experts who can answer that but not as well as King Donald who is the world authority on writing sticks and doesn't know how but it's really amazing how much he understands about writing sticks, and tariffs, and immunology, and Epstein was bad very bad never liked Epstein and now look but don't look too much and putin is a good friend and if not one single day then two weeks or maybe three months but perhaps two weeks we'll get it done and he never, ever, speaks like a mature, educated, rational, adult... because he can't.

And never ever any details.

Never ever even a single detail about anything
ron122 · 41-45, M
After 4 years of listening to Kumala Harris and Joe Biden Trump sounds like a genius.
@ron122 why don't people say she's got a molly addled voice? She dated a couple! Obviously extacy was part of her past and she's not awake at all.

Not only that, but one of the best presidents we’ve ever had, if not the very best. A messiah! 🤪
@Ducky 😂
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Fourth Grade... he was having a good day!😷
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Actually that's impressive, better than I thought.
Vin53 · M
Why would you insult 4th graders so much?
Adrift · 61-69, F
Well thats a few grades up from ole Joe and Kamalas.
What does that say about democrats?
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@Adrift It sure is
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@nudistsueaz Joe and the Ho made no sense at all....
Seriously? I thought 4th graders spoke at a higher level than that...
HoeBag · 46-50, F
@sstronaut Sounds about right.

I wonder what the level was in the 1970's when some music actually had some wisdom or at least made one think?
@HoeBag I tried looking for more information, but I couldn't find more research information at that time, at least not that graded music lyrics based on grade levels.
HoeBag · 46-50, F
@sstronaut I know some music from back then was definitely more intelligent.

Songs like "Time" (and other ones) by Pink Floyd.

Another that immediately stands out is Kansas's "No one together". Part of it -

Lo, the horn of plenty is bursting at the seams
The harvest of the world will be our prize
We claim to know the secrets, all the answers have been found
But how can one fool make another wise?

There's nothing better than it used to be
To live and die is still a mystery
We take away and we give nothing back
We just consume it all and still we lack
pikminboy · 31-35, M
But he is ! 😋
joe438 · 61-69, M
And yet the democrats don’t understand him. Weird.
@joe438 they say he's bad and that's all they got.
joe438 · 61-69, M
@Roundandroundwego Yep. Sometimes they’ll point out a specific- like the sombrero troll which I agree is beneath the president- but mostly it’s just “But Trump!!”. It gets tiresome.
@joe438 I guess you've not been paying attention to arguments based upon provable facts (formerly known as "facts") and actual logic (formerly known as "logic").

You're in the right camp
HobNoblin · 36-40, M
Hmm, I bet he doesn't realize that some men can get pregnant. What do you bet?
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
I'd put him at a 1st or 2nd grade level of intelligence.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Seriously whenever I read about what Trump has said I think it's by a grade schooler.
meJess · F
He has to so that he can be understood. High school diplomas are given out like napkins.
HoeBag · 46-50, F
This aggravated the trump fans. 😄
Alyosha · 36-40, M
@HoeBag Yup. Just look what you attracted.

@Baremine 🤣
Fourth? Are you sure he's that advanced?
@Joseph8284 Ah, a fourth-grade retort!

My linguistic abilities far exceed those of the PresiDunce.
Joseph8284 · 18-21, M
@SomeMichGuy and where had it taken you in life? Are you a billionaire???
@Joseph8284 Actually, my writing has stood me in very good stead, and has fed into many things.

He's still a bully who

• could have been educated, but wasn't
• could have told the truth, but didn't
• could have asked us to be better, but hasn't
• could strengthen our democracy and others, but won't
• could wield power for the "We, the People", but is unable,
• could listen to the brightest and best, but cannot

He's been part of the planned assassination of our country. It's quite disturbing.
TexChik · F
But you thought Biden or Harris were eloquent savants? Right 🙄. That’s all you genius socialists could think of to whine about?

@Shaveit Here's hoping you have the capacity to look up the key word!

MasterLee · 56-60, M
It is so liberals will understand him
IM5688 · 70-79, M
At least you can understand what he is saying, unlike Bumbling Biden and Word Salad Harris.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@IM5688 Exactly
Baremine · 70-79, C
And that is why Biden sounded like a two year old
Biden is sharp as a tack!

Vin53 · M
He's never read a book in his life.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@sunsporter1649 Tony Schwartz wrote the book... I doubt trump can even read the title.
Schwartz called ghost-writing the book his "greatest regret in life, without question," and both he and the book's publisher, Howard Kaminsky, alleged that Trump had played no role in its writing.
Trump has given conflicting accounts (i.e. he lies) on the question of authorship.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@sunsporter1649 Oh, are you playing the 'as illiterate as trump' game again?

OK.

Here's a random photo of some chap

I wonder what happened to him
