So, if the temporary tax cut had not been renewed this would have counted as a tax rise. But now that it has been renewed, this somehow does not count as a tax cut. 🤔

@houseonfire You have been tricked. You have been trained to hate and fear Latino immigrants. This is a manufactured un-real crisis. I have worked with many Mexican and Central American immigrants. They are just ordinary people who want a job. These immigrants perform essential work, pay taxes, pay into Social Security (though they don't get the benefits.)

As to "take two or more into your house", I have heard that repeated, in exactly those words, many times. They are trying to make you hate and fear "the other." In my case that would be a very snug fit, as I live in a one-bedroom apartment lol.

You mention the "fabric of our country". What does that fabric mean to you? How do you define it? For me it means civil rights, human rights, equality. It sure as hell does not mean a police state, dictators above the law, and racism.

@NerdyPotato one can't just say something is bad, that's all the media has been saying. I'm not going to parrot the media. This is why I'm taking the time to try to learn what it actually is and does or does not. Blaring headlines are extremely biased. I just want to understand it before I decide.

@calicuz I actually did... I knew some destructive version would pass eventually, but thought it would be watered down at least a little more before both chambers agreed.
