Aww...look at you trying to justify trumps "reciprocal" tariffs across the board. Never mind that he has tanked our economy, risen our cost of living, raped our retirement funds.
Your concern is democrats criticism of trump's mindless destruction of our country. His determination to place not reciprocal, but punitive tariffs on the world. You won't look beyond your hatred of your perceived foes to understand the damage being done.
Tariffs have always been a bargaining tool. When used as a weapon, you ruin relationships and start wars. And we pay the price. You and me.
But like everything else, he knows tariffs better than anyone, ever. Never mind what his advisors and real economists say. And let me ask you...who do you think profits when economies fail? When a govt becomes authoritarian? And you are either in favor of this collapse or are too thick to understand where we are headed.

China vowed to "fight to the end" and accused the White House of "blackmail," as tensions between the world's two largest economies rose Tuesday after President Donald Trump threatened Beijing with additional tariffs.

Trump has demanded that China withdraw its retaliatory tariffs on the U.S. or face an additional 50% levy that would take U.S. duties on some Chinese goods this year to 104% as early as Wednesday. The tit-for-tat standoff follows Trump's announcement last week he was raising import taxes on Chinese goods to 54%, on top of earlier increases.

Beijing has already pledged to impose, effective Thursday, 34% tariffs on all imports from the U.S. China's commerce ministry said that it would take further countermeasures if necessary to protect its interests. "The U.S. side's threat to escalate tariffs against China is a mistake on top of a mistake," the ministry said in a statement.

"China will never accept it."

Maybe if Trump were leading with a public reinvestment program to grow out targeted industries in step with gradual and targeted tariff programs to bring manufacturing back to the states in a slow but steady manner that wouldn't potentially trigger a global economic crisis it would be easier to get on board.

Democrats know that things are going to turn around, and Trump will be responsible for
lowering spending, increasing growth, and cutting the deficit. They are praying for
another Covid type problem, in order to stop him from succeeding.

Yes, those narrowly targeted selective tariffs are exactly the equivalent of trumps unilateral blanket tariffs on everything from every country. Boy, you sure owned us there 😂

They're both in the pockets of Wall Street, but even Wall Street opposes Trump Tariffs. This is nothing like the 35% tariffs Obama put on Chinese tires. Trump put tariffs on everything!
