Today's Liberal Hates Tariffs, But Thought They Were Okee Dokee When Obama Implemented Them 🙄

Here's what NBC News had to say about it:
Barack Obama imposed tariffs on Chinese tires in 2009 to protect American manufacturers from a surge in imports that was harming the domestic industry. These tariffs were part of a broader strategy to enforce trade laws and support American workers.

And on Canada:
Barack Obama imposed tariffs on certain imports, including those from Canada, primarily to protect American industries from unfair competition. However, these tariffs were generally lower compared to those proposed by later administrations, and they were part of broader trade policies aimed at balancing trade relationships.

These hypocrites don't hate tariffs...they are terrified of Trump

They're both in the pockets of Wall Street, but even Wall Street opposes Trump Tariffs. This is nothing like the 35% tariffs Obama put on Chinese tires. Trump put tariffs on everything!
@SW-User how many is too many?

@BizSuitStacy There should be no tariffs. However, tariffs targeting specific industries are not uncommon, as countries have long used this form of protectionism to protect vital sectors. What Trump is doing is unprecedented in U.S. history.
@SW-User So...how many is too many?

@BizSuitStacy When tariffs are set at levels that cause a decline in the standard of living, and everyday Americans can no longer afford things they once could. This is not beneficial for the American consumer. As I said, there should be zero tariffs.

However, specific tariffs targeting certain industries might be justified. For example, the shrimp industry supports Trump’s tariff. They were losing business due to the inability to compete with the lower prices of imported shrimp. A tariff on products like shrimp would have minimal negative impact because we can produce shrimp domestically at a reasonable cost.
@SW-User ohhh...the shrimp industry, huh? 🙄

When tariffs are set at levels that cause a decline in the standard of living...
So...you don't know, and are repeating the narrative on the news. 👏

Two things will happen with Trump's tarrifs...

The short term:

Longer term... manufacturing will set up shop here in the US.

Libs complain about the diminishing middle class...yet DC has nearly destroyed the manufacturing sector, which provides good paying jobs for the middle class, to shrink away. High corporate taxes & NAFTA did real long term damage.

You don't even see what's really happening.
