Today's Liberal Hates Tariffs, But Thought They Were Okee Dokee When Obama Implemented Them 🙄

Here's what NBC News had to say about it:
Barack Obama imposed tariffs on Chinese tires in 2009 to protect American manufacturers from a surge in imports that was harming the domestic industry. These tariffs were part of a broader strategy to enforce trade laws and support American workers.

And on Canada:
Barack Obama imposed tariffs on certain imports, including those from Canada, primarily to protect American industries from unfair competition. However, these tariffs were generally lower compared to those proposed by later administrations, and they were part of broader trade policies aimed at balancing trade relationships.

These hypocrites don't hate tariffs...they are terrified of Trump

There’s a huge difference between the level of tariffs under Obama and the recent Trump tariffs. No comparison
@BiasForAction oh...so some tariffs to protect American industry is ok - you know - when Obama does it 🙄

More can't be good?

This is hilarious. Tell me...where's the line then?

@BizSuitStacy I would say true protectionist tariffs are 15% or higher ad valorem and are widely applied to multiple countries or most countries other than those where we have a free trade agreement. And if they are applied across the board to all products then that is extraordinary and suggests a closed economy that isn’t interested in the well being of the nations consumers.
@BiasForAction Interesting..an arbitrary figure that sounds rational, and yet, virtually every other nation in the world charges the US far more than that. The US needs to start making good again instead of exporting services.
@BizSuitStacy not true the average tariff rates by nation are well known and although most are above the USA average rate not by much — of course you can cherry pick data and find high tariffs if you want to. But after the U.S. unilateral skyrocketing tariffs if last week none if this matters now. You like trade wars do you? You think that is good for anyone? What exactly is a fair tariff in your opinion? Is there any Trump tariff you won’t support?
@BiasForAction Horse 💩...their tariffs are far greater, and you know it.

Trade wars? The US is the world's best customer. Israel and Vietnam are dropping their tariffs. Canada and the UK are waking up. I support the concept of free trade, but in reality, that's a mirage.

Libs can't see past their television induced outrage. What happened to the champions of the middle class? They claim their numbers are dwindling...but never say why. That's because they allowed manufacturing sector to die on the vine in the US.

I'm willing to deal with the temporary setback to allow that sector to flourish again.
