Peek into practically any House or Senate investigation for examples. The upper management of the DOJ and FBI are political appointees, and members of congress are all politicians. Likewise our court systems. Judges are nominated and confirmed by politicians. Our adversarial systems elude fairness, so let biased entities perform independent investigations open to the public, and let the people believe for themselves. Isn’t that what happened with the JFK investigation? The result of which was mostly that the government can’t be completely trusted. It can’t be trusted to be completely transparent.

@SandWitch it’s like when the county sheriff investigates a crime that happens at the county jail. The sheriff runs the county jail and is to some degree investigating him/herself. The DOJ/FBI works for Trump’s political opponent. The result of the investigation may influence the election results. The DOJ/FBI leadership has a vested interest in the incident.
