During Katrina they locked our city down .
National Guard rolled in ,there was no looting ,breaking into homes
and 1 person per family went to a distribution center and the national guard loaded MRE 's and Ice in you're car ,you never got out .
2 meals a day per person ,toilet paper ,a drink (they also gave out water and cleaning supplies )and 2 snacks or deserts a day ..we lived ,this went on almost 3 weeks .
Had he did the exact same thing ,made it mandatory to stay in ,,
In 14 days we would have known who was sick and who wasn't .no testing required
The sick could have got treatment ,the rest of the country could have gone back to
work ,school and church and little impact on the economy ,they even paid us $1.200,00 to stay home ..this would have been long contained by now .
The country is under fire ,,citizens chanting death to pigs .
That is an insurrection and allows the President to use our troops to restore civil order ,,but all he did was threaten ,,
I am a Vet ,I know what we can do ,,and No one can convince me we can take down a country ,kill its leaders ,,but we can't bring peace back to a mostly unarmed citizens out to show they have power ,let them kill innocent people ,burn down businesses owned by blacks and whites they will never rebuild .
Had it been a revolution as some claim it was ,,they would have disbursed it so quick it made you're head swim .
But he only yells "Executive order " when its him trying to show he is king .
Now even that ship won't float ,,its sinking
But knowing Donald ,I am not counting him out ,it would not surprise me if he gets 4 more years ,,the nation is so evenly divided ,its 4 more years of the same ole same ole .

@rckt148 If you think a state of emergency over a cold is warranted then I guess you live on a different planet than I do. The US incentivized over reporting of covid so the hospitals did. Granny Grunt got hit by three semis and a train on the way home but in the morgue they found covid on her clothes therefore her death was classified as covid related.

We are in the middle of a pandemic that, with virtually no notice, tripled unemployment levels and is likely to have a long-lasting negative impact on jobs in many sectors (consider air travel and hospitality). Our country’s health insurance system is tied to employment. When you lose your job, you lose your health insurance (except for the short-term and expensive option to continue it under COBRA). The ACA, modeled on a program originally designed by Republicans, addressed that very real challenge in several ways, including the expansion of Medicaid eligibility, and the creation of health exchanges and standardized plans. Those latter programs included guaranteed coverage for pre-existing conditions (not provided prior to the ACA), guaranteed eligibility, and community rating. It’s not a perfect system, but it does a fine job at addressing the fundamental problems we had before it existed. To me, the fact that Biden supports it and Trump wants to repeal it is very important. Trump and the Republicans do not have another plan to offer. The ACA was the Republican plan. The alternatives, neither of which I like, are what we had before (with its huge gaps) or a very expensive Medicare for all.

He was unable to navigate it. I have many years of insurance and I had problems. it is corrupt. thrown together to get votes at election time. i wonder how many are still on it that originally signed up for it.
AND Furthermore, Trump tried to repeal and replace it and was blocked.
