@akindheart I will give you a thorough response to your one-word dismissal. We are in the middle of a pandemic that, with virtually no notice, tripled unemployment levels and is likely to have a long-lasting negative impact on jobs in many sectors (consider air travel and hospitality). Our country’s health insurance system is tied to employment. When you lose your job, you lose your health insurance (except for the short-term and expensive option to continue it under COBRA). The ACA, modeled on a program originally designed by Republicans, addressed that very real challenge in several ways, including the expansion of Medicaid eligibility, and the creation of health exchanges and standardized plans. Those latter programs included guaranteed coverage for pre-existing conditions (not provided prior to the ACA), guaranteed eligibility, and community rating. It’s not a perfect system, but it does a fine job at addressing the fundamental problems we had before it existed. To me, the fact that Biden supports it and Trump wants to repeal it is very important. Trump and the Republicans do not have another plan to offer. The ACA was the Republican plan. The alternatives, neither of which I like, are what we had before (with its huge gaps) or a very expensive Medicare for all.

@Harmonium1923 i will give you an even shorter answer. unless you have been on obamacare, you have NO room to talk. my brother was. he almost died. it is a useless plan so until you are on it, don't give me that crap. He was unable to navigate it. I have many years of insurance and I had problems. it is corrupt. thrown together to get votes at election time. i wonder how many are still on it that originally signed up for it.
AND Furthermore, Trump tried to repeal and replace it and was blocked.
