Now that Trump has ignored the virus and declared it a hoax, all the lockdowns were of little effect in many states where his cultists refused to take steps to combat it. @lou502008 Actually, no. If you look at the history of spending, most of the federal deficit was racked up during Republican Administrations. You can review the data on the GSA website if you like.

Like it or not, Trump is president when the biggest budget deficits in history are being incurred. The former highest was in 2011 as a result of the Bush/Republican Recession at $1,421 billion. This year, it will be close to $5,000 billion. It could have been limited to that horrible number, but Trump's continued ignorance of the problem will continue to destroy the economy, and is directly attributable to Trump. He owns this.
