When the “no blood for oil” anti-war liberals suddenly want to keep troops in the Middle East just because Trump is the one to pull them out.

Democrats have no loyalty to any morals, principles, or people. They will change their minds and their word a thousand times if They don’t like the temperature of public perception.

If you vote for them, they will inevitably let you down too.

Stop putting words in our mouths, liar. None of us want to keep troops in the Middle East forever. But that's very different from supporting a sudden, surprise withdrawal that has already had devastating consequences, and promises to have even more negative results in the future.

It's fine to draw down our troops, but it should be done gradually and with the full knowledge of our own military leaders, and not with Trump waking up one morning and making a spur of the moment decision. This is so bad, even the usual crop of lickspittle Trump sycophants are criticizing it. It's only the cult members like you who think it's a good idea. And you only think that because your savior did it. I guarantee, if Obama had pulled a stunt like this, you'd be screaming for his head. What a bunch of fucking hypocrites. But if conservatives didn't have double standards, they wouldn't have any standards at all!

@MethDozer I'm not sure what the right approach should be with the middle East, but I don't trust Trump and Kushner to wing it, especially with the clamor from both sides saying this was wrong.

In this case, I think that my issue with Trump has less to do with being a registered Democrat or libtard than with having respect for experience and a more Conservative and less reactionary approach to decision making.

Sure, I noticed Trump saying he had conflicts in Turkey in 2015, but Graham and others saying wtf are you doing seems more significant. Those guys overlook Trump's self dealing and they STILL say this wasn't well thought out.

@SW-User Trump always has an end game. I was upset about his seeming betrayal of the Kurds at first, and I don't like figuratively kissing the devil's ass with Saudi Arabia. Sometimes geopolitical dynamics require moral compromise. Reagan and Colonel North had to do similar things with the Iran contra deal. We've been kissing the devil's ass from time to time since 1784, and we certainly didn't invent the procedure! We have to put our nations strength first for the sake of her citizens, and unfortunately, we live in a fallen world where moral compromise is often politically expedient, if you want to have an 'end game'.

S.A. is one of the major sponsors of Islamic terrorism worldwide. I opposed sending troops over there in the first place, but once they're there, we shouldn't abandon our allies who sacrificed so much for us already. Withdrawal should have been on a timetable, with the full knowledge of our allies and [b]our own military leaders[/b], not Trump making a spur of the moment decision after a phone call with Erdogan that we still don't know what the content was.

It was a stupid move, and many conservative Republicans think so, too. And as it turns out, they were sent to Saudi Arabia, so Trump didn't even "bring the boys home."
