I become a cat mom at 4pm today. My adoption application went through. They did a virtual home visit, an interview and got good references from my vet.

one thing ..... toooooo much space isnt good I have always had rescues (dogs & cats) cats are a little easier never had a crate/cage for the cats but wish I did all the dogs are either create trained when i get them or get create trained
@pdockal I have a cage for him that he came home in. It’s with him in the decompression room and I’ve left the door open for him in case he wants to go inside.
You had to get a reference from a vet? They just don't care here, you pay the $50 and get a cat, and if they refuse you just drive behind a grocery store and get a free stray.
@Dignaga they’re quite strict here with the rescues. When I adopted my dog 15 years ago from the states, they did a tour of my home and had to meet my whole family.
And I had to pay a hefty adoption fee for him, even though he was a rescue plus I had to pay for his flight and I had to go to buffalo international airport to pick him up
And then I had to pay a few hundred more dollars when I brought him back into Canada. They have to tax you you know.
@hippyjoe1955 yes and I think it’s the right thing to do. Otherwise you get pets that are brought into a home and then given up because they realize that it’s too much effort or too much work or they don’t want it anymore and they give it up.
