If you’re socially isolated, why?

My fam passed away, I work, I'm a single mom... I'm too tired, don't have time and people don't want you unless you're perfect for them. You have to dress right, talk about the right things, have the right tone and posture and ugh... plus I just like being alone. It's quiet and uncomplicated. I'm not against other people in my life, but I haven't met anyone that accepts me.

People who fascinate me the most put me into a state of extreme nervousness and often feelings of low self-worth, so I've always been scared of making a fool of myself in front of them by being scatter-brained and incoherent. Which is a pity because I could have learned so much from various people over time. Good thing is that it seems like I'm finally growing up from it.

And the rest...some are boring to death, some are okay but it's hard to balance out relationships and compromise on who wants what and when. I guess I overthink too much and don't want to offend or bother people. 😬 It's hard to navigate it all.

It's definitely a choice. I don't mind socializing once or twice a week, and I do like talking to people, but too much of it makes me irritable. There are times when having to talk or text to someone feels like an intrusion.

For us it's because to most people we're misunderstood as a mature fwb 'couple' that's not a 'couple'.

A relationship ended then I started night shifts and it was downhill for social activity from there.... I've done lots of travelling though albeit solo 🤷‍♀

It’s a coping mechanism from childhood trauma.
A child that didn’t have emotional support will isolate alone.

Anxiety and socially awkward.
I do socialize with my family and a few others.
Just not comfortably.

I'm not but could use a break. Right now maintaining communication is exhausting

My brain is telling me that people will hate me if I open my mouth.

By choice and by how I was brought up. I was never good enough so I've been withdrawing from social life my entire life.

Preference, I have a few good friends and don’t need more.

I'm an introvert, and generally any effort I make to connect with people either fails or because a regrettable disaster.

Do a loner's job away from people and never got really great at communicating ever in my life so people don't think of me for a conversation with generally

i seem be invisible, even though im always the tallest in any group. this part of me never seemed to have developed. the circle i once had is now deceased and no one ever took their place.

I love socialising and I love solitude
