Have you ever done something out of the kindness of your heart and the person Got Really angry with you?

LilPrincess · 41-45, F
Yes that would have been my oldest daughter and we haven't spoken since the end of July.

I work a side job where I shop and deliver groceries. I ended up with her order. Well my plan was to deliver it and the next day give her the money back. She was so irate because I did something for her where I got paid to do it that she told the company i work for that her items got stolen. Before this she told her ex in laws i kicked her out after giving her a place to stay and gave her over 5k in the last couple of years

It was heartbreaking because I have done so much for this child. I miss my granddaughters but not all the drama

@LilPrincess Maybe she will come round at some point. 😇
LilPrincess · 41-45, F
@SarithBorn maybe
[c=A69800][big]Oh damn that's not good to hear, you have done a lot it sounds like for ur daughter and was nice and helped her but get treated like that. Hope that she sees that she is in the wrong and hopefully will change or has this kinda thing happened before?[/big][/c]@LilPrincess
[big][c=A69800]What someone thinks of as "kind" and "helpful" might be different for someone else..

But for me..no not really, I do help others but they don't get angry at that. I ask for help sometimes and I do not get help but than I say no if they ask and they see me as one being the awful girl that I am and yell at me or get angry 🤷🏼‍♀️[/c][/big]

Not directly. I have encountered sheer ingratitude but that doesn't sound to be as bad really.
SarithBorn · 18-21, M
@Matt85 Ok 😇
Yes.
I was staying a few nights with some friends. While they were out shopping I cleaned up their house, including putting a huge collection of empty toilet rolls into the recycling bin.
The woman of the house flipped out in a huge rage. I think she felt shame that I had "judged" her lack of cleanliness. The toilet rolls were being saved for her kid's kindergarten at the request of a teacher. Fortunately, they were easy to retrieve undamaged.
I learned never to interfere in someone else's style of housekeeping.
SarithBorn · 18-21, M
@hartfire I think your gesture was very kind, it probably was a result of shame from her point of view. The toilet roll thing is no biggy either. 😇

Yes. It was about 6 years ago. I had a service role to in my church, and the leader of our church ladies group wanted help in getting this filthy family with 12 children cleaned up.

The parents were almost useless in caring for their own children beyond feeding them...so the leader of the ladies group asked for help in washing ALL of the children's clothing which was knee deep on the floor all over the house, and then she mentioned that the shower and bathtub the children had to use was black with mold. I told her I could clean anything.

We actually took before and after pictures. At any rate, the children seemed to appreciate a clean bathtub and shower. The parents were another story. They went to the head of the church and complained about all the people who were trying to help them.

@4meAndyou 😑 some people i swear...
4meAndyou · F
@SarithBorn Apparently the parents were super talented baby makers and had time for little else.
SarithBorn · 18-21, M

No good deed goes unpunished
Ferric67 · M
@hartfire she meant that even when to try to do something good for someone....you still get repreminaded by them or someone in the know, even though your intentions came from a positive place.
@Ferric67 Ah, I see.

Some people can't be helped. For instance, addicts. Helping them just acts like a band-aid and keeps the addiction going for longer. Addicts have to be allowed to reach their own rock bottom before they can begin to turn their lives around.

Many people have pride and feel ashamed if someone else is trying to rescue them. Wounded pride or ego can cause people to lash out in anger.

I made three rules for myself. Only help if it's something a person can't do on their own, or if it makes the task much easier.
And always ask if they want help and if so what kind.
Don't help if it will cause me severe disadvantage or pain.

If someone has a strong need to help, joining a volunteer organisation can be a great way to get involved.
SarithBorn · 18-21, M
@Ferric67 I guess that is true. 🤔
Funlov · M

@Funlov It doesn't take much to be an internet bully. You need to stop.
