What’s the biggest piece of propaganda you believed but later found out was not true?

That sex is more important than it actually is.

I was raised to think men only wants one thing, so I'm a natural flirt with a perverted sense of humor. But I have little to no interrest in actually fornicating. It has made me feel like something was wrong with me all my life.
Still does, but I'm starting to see more asexual people in movies, series, and online. Even met a few within the last year or so.


I still feel like something's wrong with me for not wanting that kind of intimacy, but it's a relief to know I'm not alone.

That the key to a middle class lifestyle is a college education. I’m sure it probably was once upon a time, but this doesn’t seem to be the reality anymore.

That keeping one’s head down and working hard was a way to earn respect.

In some circles that work ethic is not valued at all. 🙁

That working hard could make you be able to afford a house.
