There is a mouse in our garage, now what?

We found a live black mouse 🐁 in our garage this morning. I watched a YouTube video on how to make a humane mouse trap that will catch it in a 5 gal 🪣 bucket with a trap door lid for the mouse to fall in the bucket. My trap worked but when I went to put the actual lid on it the mouse jumped 3 feet in the air and got away. We’re getting an actual humane live mouse trap the we ordered from Amazon tomorrow.
Here is the dilemma. I want to take it out in the desert and let nature take its course. Probably get eaten by a snake 🐍 but will live a while. My brother wants to put gasoline ⛽️ on it and catch it on fire 🔥 then shoot it with the AR 15 to put it out of its misery. He said he sinned against us by coming in our house, and the mouse needs to pay for the sin. .
I’m hoping that I can catch it before he gets home and I’ll let it go. There is a video camera in our garage that finds it and zooms in on it. I’ll have to be fast because my brother caN see what’s going on by watching it on his cellphone.
What should I do

Your brother needs help
but thankyou, on behalf of the mouse, for trying to be humane.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
Your brother isn't all there is he?
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@novaguy2u in our situation murder started when someone murdered my mother while she was at work. My brother has anger issues. He would never take it out on another human.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@2brandon2 Very sorry to hear that about your mum.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@Longpatrol thank you!! I was nine my brother was 12 my mom was called to an emergency which ended up being an ambush. The killer has never been found but nine years latter I’m still learning stuff about what happened.

Your brother has some serious issues man. That's not right.

I live in the mountains and mice are a part of it. They're neighbors just like every other animal. With a humane trap, which is all I use, you just need to bait it with a little peanut butter and keep an eye on it.

Once it's trapped you just need to move it away so it doesn't come back. Some say a couple of hundred yards and others think a mile or so. The desert isn't the best call. An open field will work. Those mice in your house have probably never lived outside. So yeah. It's not optimum for them but you don't want mouse shit in your house.

If there's one then there will more than likely be others. I usually get them in groups of three or four. What I do sometimes is put a trapped mouse in a big bucket and wait until I catch another. They're family and they may do better in nature with each other.

But tell your brother to slow his roll and understand his place. Killing animals is horseshit. You're doing the right thing. Good luck with it.
Ynotisay · M
@2brandon2 Oh. Didn't know. Then yeah. That makes sense. And in case you're not feeling good about it, you're giving the animal a chance. Much better than the alternative. Wild mice don't usually have long lives. Usually it's around six months or so. They become food so something else can live. There's no feelings involved in that. It just is. Good luck.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@Ynotisay that’s what I’m saying the mouse should go down the road and become the circle of life 🐍
Ynotisay · M
@2brandon2 One dies so another can live. That's nature. 👍
ArishMell · 70-79, M
So burning an animal alive then blowing it to pieces with a powerful gun, would not be a "sin"? Or does you brother just have a sick sense of humour?

Catch the mouse, release it some distance from the house - and put an angle-grinder cutting-disc through that gun!
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@RedBaron then it dies a slow death dehydration and starvation. Burning it is off the table now.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@ArishMell they have some of their top detectives on the case. Their probably in Mexico
RedBaron · M
@2brandon2 But it’s a pest like a cockroach or water bug, so too bad.
Fairydust · F
Set it free, no need to set it on fire 🔥 that’s a bit extreme.

When we have mice (happens from time to time because we live in a building with many apartments), we just put some mouse traps which catch them but don't kill them, and then made sure there wasn't any food for them to eat. That worked.
Piper · 61-69, F
You should continue with your humane trapping and relocating the mouse in a 'wild' place away from houses plan. Or anywhere, if you think your disturbed brother would actually do what you've described.
elafina · 36-40, F
Explain to your brother if you can that it's unecessary to kill like that and it's easy to take the mouse away..
GLITTER · 36-40, F
Murder your brother it’s the only option
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@GLITTER one murder in our family, is all we need. My mom was killed while in the line of duty. That’s the worst kind of advice. Anybody could give anybody
GLITTER · 36-40, F
@2brandon2 I apologise
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
Fake post but amusing. 👍
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@ravenwind43 no sorry to say, it’s the real thing.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@2brandon2 trying to convince me 10 hours later doesn't really make a difference lol.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@ravenwind43 the mouse 🐁 is still loose in the garage. Whether you believe me or not, it doesn’t really matter. I just wanted some opinions from people to make my case that it’s f***ed up in the head to want to torture any animal.
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
Get a cat 😂😂
RedBaron · M
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@RedBaron love the song lol 😂
Ontheroad · M
Your brother has issues - might be a good idea to get him some help.
familyfunguy · 56-60, M
Guys, if their household doesn't even have an AR-15 then he was probably just kidding.

But if your garage isn't connected to your house (not all are) there might be less to worry about. Just go through with the proper method of ridding the mice or mouse.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@familyfunguy we are a gun family we have two A.R. $.15 in fact. The garage is connected to our house and we live in the desert so I wouldn’t really take the mouse and let it go a mile away just to make sure it doesn’t come back
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
Why are people taking this seriously? 🤔 the first paragraph was the only believable part. Lol
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@ravenwind43 no I just want to show my brother public opinion. I know it’s f’d up.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@ravenwind43 and nontheis is the real deal
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@ravenwind43 I don’t think there is anything funny at all. I think it’s messed up.
RedBaron · M
Glue traps are easier and less messy. It’s a pest, anyway.
RedBaron · M
@2brandon2 But they’re pests not unlike roaches and water bugs, so too bad.

Plus I live in Brooklyn, where the only dessert comes at the end of a meal! 😂
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@RedBaron yeah, I hear your rats are about the size of a cat
RedBaron · M
@2brandon2 Rats R Us! 😂🤣
AnonymousJSS · 22-25, F
Just poison it. That way your brother sees you killing it, plus the mouse will not suffer from being burned alive??!
Piper · 61-69, F
@AnonymousJSS The poison most commonly available and sold to kill rodents is pretty much like being burned alive from inside, and the suffering usually goes on for a lot longer.

dancingtongue · 80-89, M
I would be more worried about your brother than the mouse. I would recommend getting a cat, but not with your brother around.
Just use a mouse trap and release it in jungle. You don't want to set your house on fire 🔥
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@littlepuppywantanewlife that’s what I said. We live in the desert and if I get my way I’ll be putting it in the desert.
deadgerbil · 22-25
All this over a freaking mouse. There is no dilemma. Your brother is an idiot
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@deadgerbil @deadgerbil pleas don’t insult my brother. He has anger issues. What you all don’t know is my mother was murdered. I delt with much different than he did I have acceptance and deal with it. My brother is angry at the world.
Your brother should’ve have access to a gun.
Live trap it, let it go, and set your brother on fire.
Set it on fire and shoot it? 🤦‍♂️ He needs help.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
He said he sinned against us by coming in our house, and the mouse needs to pay for the sin.
Imagine being his ex
Try putting poison out
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@Spoiledbrat putting poison out it’s not usually a good idea. Reason being a mouse will crawl Into a wall or something die and then rot and stink
SW-User
Buy an old fashioned trap and kill it.
SW-User
Borrow a cat!
MonaReeves86 · 36-40, F
I’ll send my cats
