There is a mouse in our garage, now what?

We found a live black mouse 🐁 in our garage this morning. I watched a YouTube video on how to make a humane mouse trap that will catch it in a 5 gal 🪣 bucket with a trap door lid for the mouse to fall in the bucket. My trap worked but when I went to put the actual lid on it the mouse jumped 3 feet in the air and got away. We’re getting an actual humane live mouse trap the we ordered from Amazon tomorrow.
Here is the dilemma. I want to take it out in the desert and let nature take its course. Probably get eaten by a snake 🐍 but will live a while. My brother wants to put gasoline ⛽️ on it and catch it on fire 🔥 then shoot it with the AR 15 to put it out of its misery. He said he sinned against us by coming in our house, and the mouse needs to pay for the sin. .
I’m hoping that I can catch it before he gets home and I’ll let it go. There is a video camera in our garage that finds it and zooms in on it. I’ll have to be fast because my brother caN see what’s going on by watching it on his cellphone.
What should I do

So burning an animal alive then blowing it to pieces with a powerful gun, would not be a "sin"? Or does you brother just have a sick sense of humour?

Catch the mouse, release it some distance from the house - and put an angle-grinder cutting-disc through that gun!

@ArishMell Mice are too small to make very many pieces.

@RedBaron
Seriously it would probably obliterate it and you wouldn’t see any pieces left at all
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@2brandon2 It would, but it's still a very sick idea.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@ArishMell so are you voting to shot it?
RedBaron · M
@2brandon2 But don’t shoot the wrong mouse!
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@RedBaron I would love to have that poster on my wall in my room
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@2brandon2 Errrr. No! Live trap and release it.
RedBaron · M
@ArishMell Why? Mice are pests like cockroaches. They’re dirty and a nuisance, leaving their droppings all over the house.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@RedBaron They are, but if you need kill them, do so humanely. (Conventional rodenticides, acting by causing heavy internal bleeding, are not particularly humane, though.)

Besides, who the hell needs an assault-rifle around the house?
RedBaron · M
@ArishMell Glue traps are humane enough for me. They don’t break the neck like traditional snap traps.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@ArishMell in Arizona. It is perfectly legal. My mom was a cop. She was a swat cop. Then moved into gangs. And that is where she was killed. We all shoot competitively. We all have handguns, and we are highly trained, and how to use them my murder was never solved so the killer is still out there. That is all I can say about that.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@2brandon2 Oh, I realised you live somewhere where guns are legal.

I am very sorry about the murder of your mother, and i hope her killer is found one day.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@RedBaron How does a glue trap work?

The traditional mouse-trap is an instant killer if it catches the animal as it is supposed to, by breaking the spinal cord along with the spine.
RedBaron · M
@ArishMell The mouse or rat gets stuck on the glue, then you toss it in trash.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@RedBaron then it dies a slow death dehydration and starvation. Burning it is off the table now.
2brandon2 · 18-21, M
@ArishMell they have some of their top detectives on the case. Their probably in Mexico
RedBaron · M
@2brandon2 But it’s a pest like a cockroach or water bug, so too bad.
