El condor pasa and the longest night are my favorites .. always in my playlist
ElRengo · 70-79, M
Daily!

Simon and Garfunkel, Bee Gees and others are part of the music of my generation.

But I suggest you to also listen to the nearer to the original versions of El condor pasa.

@ElRengo This is beautiful ! 😃

@bijouxbroussard Yesssssssssss!

Even if I´m not from Peru, my country (Argentina) is not so far from there.
What also happens is that a wide geographic area that includes Peru, Bolivia, North of Chile and the Norwest of Argentina haves simmilar cultural roots and so folcklore music and it´s traditional intruments. El Condor Pasa is yes peruvian but also part of the heritage of a very multicultural country, my one.

I enjoy the music of the era that was my teen to adulthood period. Mainly my taste gravitates to more of these musicians.
I listen to both on my play lists.

@ArtieKat @ArtieKat

Going to give this a listen, too. It's a good thing I've headphones for this laptop. If not this would sound like it's being played through a tin can.

That's odd - - - the music comes through well but the picture keeps stopping and starting.

Gone too soon... R.I.P. Billy.
originnone · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard I always considered Billy Preston to be one of the fifth Beatles....
Thevy29 · 41-45, M

I’m a huge fan of S&G.
@Harmonium1923 S & G are nice Jewish boys. Did you know that?

Don't forget Three Dog Night!

Good one! Song and comment!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User The story behind the song was Hoyt Axton was playing at a club one night. He had the refrain "Joy to the world" down but he hadn't written the rest of the song. He decided to sing it at the club using made up phrases. Three Dog Night was in the club and after the show asked Hoyt if they could record his new song. Hoyt was a bit surprised and asked which new song. Three Dog Night said the one about the bullfrog. The rest is history.

Cripes I enjoy stories like that. Your comment fleshes out the song... makers it all the more enjoyable and memorable.
Not bee gees, but I've liked S&G since I was young.

The Boxer is a special favorite along with Sounds of Silence & Homeward Bound
Rhode57 · 56-60, M
Yes yes and yes their icons no one will ever better .
@Rhode57 I once heard the Red Hot Chili Peppers do For Emily whenever I may find her. I was stunned at what a rendition they gave! Outstanding!!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I love Simon & Garfunkel

All of the above
I wouldn't turn off a S&G song, just don't seek it out. I love the Disturbed version of Sound of Silence. I never got into the Bee Gees until I got older, and they're one of the groups I appreciate a lot more today than years back, and will play occasionally.
I like the Bee Gees. The harmony. Once in a while. I could live in the 70's. And the 60's. I could live in those 2 decades happily in music land.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@PoetryNEmotion At this phase of my life “Staying Alive” is a favorite song 😂
@cherokeepatti You are kidding, right, girl? I know you are a fine person.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@PoetryNEmotion It’s been my little joke since I turned 60.

I've got about 6,000 music tracks of all sorts of music on my computer which is on shuffle - more Simon & Garfunkel than Bee Gees but I like them all
Entwistle · 56-60, M
I like a few of Simon and Garfunkell's songs
Some Bee Gee basslinea are good but I don't enjoy their singing.
chasingThursday · 36-40, M
Bee Gees was the first band I ever got into 😁
@chasingThursday How deep is your love for the Bee Gees?

[media=https://youtu.be/XpqqjU7u5Yc]
chasingThursday · 36-40, M
@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays I thought they were the best back in the day lol
@chasingThursday Me too. Listen to them often. And I'm into classical music !!!
Ducky · 31-35, F
I was just listening to “Cecilia” by Simon & Garfunkel the other day.
Sunstone · 41-45, F

I like Paul Simon

@Axeroberts I love Graceland.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
I prefer to listen to Simon and Garfunkel over the BeeGees but I can appreciate the BeeGees' music. Where I grew up the BeeGees were considered gay when gay was not a badge of honor.
seabirds · 41-45, F
@hippyjoe1955 oh I never knew that
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@seabirds The falsetto singing was considered gay. No male wanted to sing in the women's voice range.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@seabirds Real men wanted to sing in the range of Richard Sterban of the Oakridge Boys "Om papa om papa om papa mau mau". Not Robin Gibb Gotta get a message to you.

The Bee Gees sometimes, yes
megrose · 56-60, F
Really enjoyed them
Love The Bee Gees…
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
I've got the Simon and Garfunkel boxed set (five CDs and a live DVD). I like the old Bee Gees songs like "Massachusetts" and "First Of May", but I don't like all that "Saturday Night Fever" stuff.
SW-User
I appreciate both groups. They however are in the collection of artists I don’t seek out as much.
There is a burn factor with all music after a point.

I have three copies of the album, Main Course. One on Cassette, one on 8-Track, and one on record.
I love the music of Simon and Garfunkel. Your post may lead me back to listening to some.

S&G once in a while, the Bee Gees I didn't listen to after they went disco. LOVED their first album, though.
