@SW-User Jeremiah was a bullfrog. Was a good friend of mine. Never understood a word he said but I helped him drink his wine and he always had some mighty fine wine. Singing Joy to the world.....

@SW-User The story behind the song was Hoyt Axton was playing at a club one night. He had the refrain "Joy to the world" down but he hadn't written the rest of the song. He decided to sing it at the club using made up phrases. Three Dog Night was in the club and after the show asked Hoyt if they could record his new song. Hoyt was a bit surprised and asked which new song. Three Dog Night said the one about the bullfrog. The rest is history.
