@smiler2012 There are very many sub par actors, who are incredibly famous such as Will here :) They have something that people love. In this case he is also hot, or was (for some, I much prefer Nimoy).

for example: patience and he was disarming and diplomatic
but he also took no sht (i.e. when he was dealing with the Vulcans).

And he generally always looked on the bright side, he was an optimist: what's around that corner?
