I remember The Love Bug and The Jungle Book. I'm not sure which I saw first but The love Bug came out in '67, The Jungle Book in '68, and I was born in '65.
I vaguely remember seeing The Pink Panther at a drive in, it had to have been before 1970.

ADDED: I think it must have been Jungle Book. I think I must be remembering seeing Herbie Rides Again and not the original The Love Bug.

@robb65 I remember going to the Saturday matinees when I was a kid.
They always had double features.
robb65 · 56-60, M
@Adrift We were out in the boonies. It was rare to get to go to a movie.

I miss the vibe of what was once a REAL occasion - going to the movies. It was something special. It was always crowded, and the theatres were always full. The foyer was full with the hum of excited families and friends all buying snacks and getting tickets.
There were formal ushers for seating, politeness and sociability everywhere.
Now its almost lonely and quiet.

My mum took my sisters and I to see the Sound of Music in 1965.
Something really old, I'm sure. My mother used to take me the occasional weekday to these huge, sparsely attended movie theaters when she went downtown shopping for clothes. I remember seeing Charlie Chaplin's tramp character living in a shack by a stream and, in another movie, Clark Gable smooching with Scarlet O'Hara.
A muppets movie, it was about 1980 in tge fairview cinema in Dublin and smoking was still happening and I remember not being able to see the screen so well because if the amount of smoke, I was 7

Scream 3. It was the year 2000 & I was probably 3 years old. Not sure why my parents took me to a horror movie as a toddler but that's the first time I remember ever being in a theater lol
