who is your favorite portrayal of sherlock holmes?? i thoroughly enjoyed lucy liu as watson in Elementary

My absolute favorite was Jeremy Brett, who looked the way I always imagined Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original character looked.

That said, I’m not a purist; I’ve also enjoyed shows like Elementary & Sherlock, contemporary depictions of the characters.

One of my favorites is The Seven-Per-Cent Solution.
Nicol Williamson as Holmes, Robert Duvall as Watson. I attended the premier in my city and Williamson was there, being interviewed and taking questions from the audience.

Good question! Personally my favourites are Jeremy Brett and Benedict Cumberbatch, also Peter Cushing in the Hound of the Baskervilles.

Cumberbatch is way up there for me. He totally inhabited the character.
