Rise of Skywalker - Luke and Rey or Ben and Rey?

I think the only way the final sw movie can go is if either Luke is actually still alive and takes down the first order with Rey, or Ben redeems himself and joins forces with Rey and they take it down together? Any thoughts?

I would be surprised if Ben survives this movie. I think luck is died. We never seen anyone come back from the dead. Even the emperor I think he is just a ghost

@smileylovesgaming I'm glad they did a redeem for Ben solo though I wish they didn't kill him off.

@Laughman Well he was like Darth Vader. He couldn't had lived with all he had done.

@smileylovesgaming but it's ok for like to blow up a massive space station full of innocence cleaners and maintenance staff??

I see both Rey and Ben heading towards a Grey Jedi type of thing. Not Light or Dark, somewhere in between. Both gaining a truer understanding of the Force because of it.

@SarahAndSamantha Hmm maybe however the grey Jedi aspect has really only been explored in books. It might be too late to bring it into the movies. Too many questions on why this is suddenly a thing after 40 years of films

@Laughman I'm barely aware of the books, I think I read one once a long time ago. Personally, I would love it. And it seems to me that's kind of where it's heading. Kylo feeling the pull of the light side and trying to resist it, Rey jumping right into that darkside pit thing. I think it would be interesting to see them gravitate towards the middle.

And it's simple, it's suddenly a thing because everybody in the films had the old teaching shoved down their throats. Darkside bad, Lightside good. Ben and Rey are heading away from that, it's a new area to explore...in the next trilogy. End this one with "holy crap, this can work." and start the next one with how it can or can't.

Or, i'm just grasping at straws because I've always wanted to see a force user on screen who mastered the Force itself, not Lightside or Darkside.

@SarahAndSamantha Yep I very much understand what you mean. Personally I think they missed the boat in terms of Luke Skywalker. I thought he was supposed to be one of, if not the greatest force user ever. The last two movies were a great chance to show this and all the different abilities he had learnt since ROTJ. However 2 movies have now been wasted with one does Ng a find and seek, and the other following a depressed man because he lost a student. Now he is (technically) dead, it's game over for Jim and the series I think.

First Order wins, Ben becomes essentially a new emperor. Mirroring the end of the prequel trilogy, a new empire has risen. Stage is set for a new trilogy in which the fledgeling empire is brought to its knees by an external invasion.

@ViciDraco Did he ever turn back to the light?
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Laughman Don't think so, killed by his twin sister if I recall.
Laughman · 46-50, M
@ViciDraco Well that will make family BBQs a tad awkward won't it?
If palpatines cameo is more then a distant laugh on the sound track.. I say we slaughter Disney and Abraham’s..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Yeah I think the Palpatine thing is a bit of a red herring. Not really sure what to make of it.
