I done that back in 1988. Living in my home town Tasmania became all too much so one evening I took out my map of Australia and with eyes closed spun the map around several times.
When I stopped spinning it, I put my finger down and it had landed on Esperance in Western Australia. 2500 miles away.
Three weeks later I had sold my home and was living in Esperance. Best thing I have ever done.

yes o did it once when i was 18 ,,, i joined the military and left home for 20 years ,, then raised a family and retired ,,, now live onthe west coast with no family around going to leave again to sail the world that is still open to freedom,,,

Kind of, I guess. It was once hard for me to make friends. But once I started making them and getting people to laugh, I realized keeping them was tough for me, as I was mostly busy with work. Now I usually get away from any noise.
