What supplements do you take?

I take
Ashwagandha (really have no idea why my Dr just recommended it)
Myo & d-chiro inositol (I have pcos)
Iron (I’m both vegan and anemic lol)
Vitamin D (I had a deficiency)
That’s all the supplements I take but I do take regular prescription medication

Vitamin D and folic acid all year round.

I should start taking iron shortly before my periods tho, as apparantly that eases the cramps. But I also have pcos, so it's hard to know when I need the extra iron.

(High dose of iron allegedly eases the cramps, but it's not recommended to take it regularly unless you actually need it)

@MommaBear I heard the steak thing too, because of the iron in it.

Since I don't eat meat, iron suppliments would be my go-to if I were regular
MommaBear · 26-30, F
@TheRealBarbossa try the inositol that’s what I take for my pcos it helped with my painful ovulation so it’ll probably help your cramps and get you more regular
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
@MommaBear I'll have to ask my doc about it next time I see him. Especially since I don't know if we have that in Norway, or what we'd call it.

Regularly in winter: Vitamin D3 in MCT oil (5 drops)
When I'm sick or feel like I might get sick: zinc, high doses of vitamin C powder
When I start feeling shaky and weird, muscles feel weak: Magnesium and B complex
When I want to calm down my nerves or fight anxiety: Valeriana extract
When my digestion gets bad: probiotics

I have vitamin A and E pills somewhere but haven't taken them in a while.

Mushroom vitamin (supposed to support brain function/memory) I'm getting "older"

Question: You note that you are vegan. But does your diet allow seafood?
MommaBear · 26-30, F
@Teslin no you are thinking of a pescatarian diet
Vegan doesn’t consume any animal products
Teslin · M
@MommaBear Exactly !!
I know someone who considers herself a vegetarian, but also eats seafood.
MommaBear · 26-30, F
@Teslin then she’s pescatarian lol a lot of people get it mixed up
BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
Ashwaganda is typically for stress/anxiety

I take magnesium, a multivitamin, cinnamon and a joint health supplement daily w my bp med and 81mg aspirin
MommaBear · 26-30, F
@BrandNewMan that makes sense why I take it then lol I have taken magnesium too but not very often
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
I used to take about half a dozen different workout supplements a day in addition to my prescription medication. But I also worked out every other day and the days I wasn’t working out I was training.
