Yep. Her father ran the grocery store that was literally behind our house, and she worked there on weekends. We were both freshmen in high school, but different high schools. Friends only for a decade, then realized we were soul mates. Married 43 years before I lost her to cancer. Missed her terribly this weekend when our granddaughter graduated from college. Somewhere she was smiling proudly seeing what remains of our family together for the weekend.

@toughbaby2 she was married, we were both very much in love with each other but she wouldn't divorce her husband, I waited as long as I could, the hardest thing was not just leaving her but also leaving her kids which had gotten very used to me.

Yes I did, I was at a Scout Jamboree with 15,000 odd people there. Met my future wife there, we were together for just over 30years before she passed away.

@toughbaby2 I am socially isolated already since years... since more than 20 years I even don´t have any friends, and my family is gone too. 😞
And now I am ill too... 😑

Even if it would be nice to find love I know that this is not possible for me. Not anymore. 😞

@Loretta78 I saw this lady who posted her story early this year. She was saying she's 45 has never been married, has no kids. According to her she says she's been wanting for the right one and was saying she found a man in his early 50s who loves her and that they were preparing to get married. She was saying love has no age. Her words inspired me I hope the same for you 😊.

@toughbaby2 i have a tendency to push people away when they're trying to help or get close. plus subconsciously i find myself viewing the people that do like me (romantically) to be disgusting. thinking "why would someone chose to like me. they have to be sick in the head or something" that's obviously my own fault but it comes from a deep rooted hatred i have for myself. that's all to say i'm not really the kind of person who tries in life. so getting to the bottom of these feelings and actually attempting to correct them is completely off the table for me. too much effort

@looping This all sounds very familiar to me too. This is also reason I doubt finding anyone. I recently found out I am avoidant attachment style.. I hate being this way and I would love to become more receptive for love. I wish your heart to open and find beauty and value in yourself again❤️

Yes, true love as in I truly loved him with everything I had. He crushed my young heart. Years later I found that true love again. He loved me as much as Ioved him. He waa taken from me in a truck crash.
