Sure we all have them. Like I keep looking back on first years of school where everyone carried marbles, Chinese Jump rope and regular rope for Double Dutch jump rope.

You know I always wonder if I still could Double Dutch at my age today 😊😊
Thrust · 56-60, M
@HumanEarth I jump rope every day but all I can concentrate is not losing my wind.

Speaking of games like marbles, there's a Subway here near some projects which are mostly black. They have a sign in there "No playing dice"

Talk about nuclear powered stereotypes! 😩
HumanEarth · F
I can still jump rope easily, but doing the Double Dutch jump like I did when I was a kid. That's the question

Jumping in, jumping out and doing a few tricks

Lets see if I find a video of some kids Double Dutching

This video was just fun to watch

My 20’s are a blur because I was busy becoming a mom to three. Even my 30’s are a bit hazy due to being a working mom fighting depression. The most memories I have are of my 40’s when the kids were less reliant on me and I decided to quit working. Had a lot of days to work on myself and shift some things within.

Relive your past and you'll remember more.

How? Write and rewrite it.

My memorial post on influential women in my life was rewritten many times. With many additions over years.
Oh yes. I think it’s not about brain function but about what the brain is concentrating on. When my kids were little I hardly ever listened to new music or saw a non-children’s movie. So my recollection of cultural events in those years is rather poor.
I'm ND, so I perceive things a little differently. Some memories are extremely vivid. Some years are a blur. Are Neurotypicals like that too?
I remember my childhood vividly, my 20s were a blur., lots of cocaine and alcohol did that. 30s and 40s are clear but now I forget what I had for dinner the night before.

@Teslin I take lions mane too. It’s a good replacement for my adhd med which I’m completely off
Teslin · M
@Jenny1234 Interesting. It has multiple uses.
@FreeSpirit1 wait until you're my age!

Having only completed three decades I suppose this is a much easier question for me to answer than some. It would be my first decade with which I have the least familiarity. Most of my "memories" for that decade are of things about which I was told or that I've seen in pictures and videos. :)

I have the most memories of my teens years which were pretty rough for me unfortunately, but I can remember stuff all the way back to the age of 4.
Yes, that’s definitely relatable. I have more superficial memories about my twenties than my childhood. The latter, surprisingly, I can remember in detail.
Thrust · 56-60, M
I can remember conversations verbatim from my teens, 20's and 30's. 40's and fifties have few outstanding memories except a few vacations and girlfriends and alot of work
Keeper · M
Similar to POH, my 20's were a complete blur....but for different reasons.
(had to let the wild horses run free)
Before high school life was fine. Lots of swell memories.

Yes - Ages 5-16 are amazingly present in me.
come2gether · 46-50, M
I have almost no memories of my childhood, and I don't know why
Very few memories of the first 9 months or so...just remember it being dark, quiet and damp
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
yes, but i have virtually no memories v=before my mom dies when I was 11
Most of mine are from my childhood and late 20's.
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
My childhood is a blur I only remember a few negative things I have more memories of my early twenties
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
I remember so much from my early childhood and after that it begins to fade
Bowenw · 61-69, M
The years I was primarily focused on career have far less lasting memories.
YoMomma ·
Probably.. people tend to remember unusual things more often than not
