I don't even think about it.
I do what I do and think what I think.

@nonsensiclesnail This. I mean it all sounds like a lot of work trying to be or not be a cliche.
nonsensiclesnail · F
@Allelse exactly. and I have other places to put y ridiculous amounts of effort.
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
I don't *try* to be anything. I am effortlessly this disaster that is me
JPWhoo · 36-40, M
I’m not sure, that’s something I struggle with. You see when I was little other kids would tell me I was weird, and soon I adopted that as part of my identity and took pride in it - besides, normal is boring! But as I got older I realized that my peers never thought I was “cool”, and I got lonely sometimes. As I continued to grow I struggled to find dates. Now I’m 36 and still have never been in a romantic relationship before. So I don’t know, being original is fun and interesting and beautiful, but it seems to me that the downside is loneliness and all the self-doubt that comes with that. To what extent is it worth it?
Nightwings · 31-35, F
No that's silly... ironically, being true to yourself probably makes you less cliche anyways...
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
Not sure about original, I just want to be me. It turns out that being me makes me stand out from the crowd but that's just a side effect.
I want to fit in in the sense of being accepted but not in the sense of being the same as everyone else. II have been lucky enough to associate with people who all seemed to me to be different from one another. Was it really luck though, or was it that in fact people really are all different?
Perhaps it depends on where you live.

At my age, I don’t have time to go out of my way. For better or worse, what you see is what you get.

Oh, my I do not even ever begin to try to fit in. I am just me and that's all I can be.
Colonelmustardseed · 36-40
I do whatever, and however it’s perceived doesn’t dictate how I act.

I don't give a crap. I'm just me and nobody likes me so its great.
Iwillwait · M
Pretty Important, but not a deal breaker.
Piper · 61-69, F
No, but I sure don't go out of my way to fit in...either.
RedBaron · M
What does that even mean?
SW-User
Originality is near impossible.
Missbirdie1986 · 36-40, F
I don’t fit in at all
SW-User
Being Original? I don't care about that.
I do whatever I feel is right and doesn't hurt anyone else , so what if nobody likes it or everybody likes it.

I would never try to "fit in" by being "cliche"!
In my world its not an either/or thing.

Shadyglow · F
Yes when I was dogmatic and about 18 and I gave up fitting in years earlier.
reubles · 41-45, M
I don't care, everything is a trope or a cliché
