Dunno, it's not over yet.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Notsimilarreally Hahahahaha! :P
@Allelse I like that. Happiness could also be measured by the lack of certain experiences more so than experiencing something. Maybe what we haven't experienced yet is what can add to our perception of happiness
Allelse · 36-40, M
@GoToTheCompound One way to look at it, my way of thinking has always been more on the 'things can always get worst' point of view.

@PoetryNEmotion so happy for you, it is an endowment of the universe!
@WhisperinAngelic101 I have made my own happiness. Thank you.

7 years ago, when my brother and I liberated myself from my narcissistic father and his clone of a wife!
Travelling, almost without a home, with many places to call a home while (almost) living from my car, with a new love seeing almost half of Canada with the freedom just to say together, hey let's go here, let's feel this together. 2008-2009.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@thewindupbirdchronicles That is so awesome! How long was your trip? Have you ever considered getting an RV for long trips like that?
@Musicman It was spur of the heart. I had not considered then, as I did not know then. I went on a limb. Maybe I would consider an RV, as that chance doesn't come often, and I'm becoming older.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@thewindupbirdchronicles We are getting older now too. I will be 62 next week. I like the motorhome for various reasons. We always have a clean bathroom while traveling. My wife has to use the bathroom a lot. She can go while I drive so no more continuous stopping. In the middle of the night we both have to get up and go to the bathroom. There is no carrying of suitcases. Just load the motorhome and we are done. We have a full kitchen with us and a washer and dryer. Plus kitty can come with us. Not many hotels will take cats.

Early 20s. an overdose of ambition, passion, zest.. getting away with a lot of dumb things. And life hasn’t really punched you in the face.

Maybe back in 1986 when I went to visit my grandparents. That was the best time I had.

After I had my son. I had never felt like I mattered until I became a mom. I'd never believed in and trusted love so much. The boy knows he's loved. Life happens though. I lost people. I think my happiness is waiting for me in my elder years.
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
@SW-User this is relatable. Motherhood definitely gives one purpose.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
Probably my late 50's and early 60s, when I was technically retired but still earning about the same working as a part-time consultant, the nest was empty, and my wife and I were doing a lot of traveling around the world.
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
@dancingtongue sounds lovely 😊
Musicman · 61-69, M
About five years ago. My wife's health was pretty good. The economy rocked and our finances were in good shape. We took the motorhome out regularly and traveled regularly.
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
Im not sure. Happiness comes in small bouts for me here and there. Alot of truama has happened and i forgot alot of point of my life.
In general, I'm at my happiest now.
But there were other times too, different reasons back then, and different kinds of happiness.
In school because, I was a kid with a hard life but walked own road, and Fought own battles.

With my ex..all I want is to cherish her even in my depression state. I'm always happy to be loyal and take care of her....well that passion was gone when she took a different path and I accepted her choice. She wants to become a sister Nun.

And then back to zero ground and recover which I did.
@FreestyleArt She must have been nicer than nice and had a higher calling. Respect.

no idea about happiness but after 16 to 17 I feel life is like a dream for me as I can able to do everything I need to do
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Oh that's difficult.

At various times but because of different things I suppose is the obtuse answer.

When my daughter was allowed home
@Musicman She was born prematurely, 32 weeks, and was 2lbs. So, she had to be off breathing and feeding tubes, and a little closer to her due date.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@V00doo I am so sorry. I am glad she is okay now and enjoying life. 🤗💝💝💝🤗

I don't get too emotional about things

I do have a good idea about what would make me very happy though

I honestly don't know. 😅 Probably some year I forgot thanks to brain stuff haha.

Before I had kids
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@Notsimilarreally I love my kids to the moon and back and I’m eternally grateful for them

But having kids is physically and emotionally draining. I’d like to go back for a short time to when I didn’t have any responsibilities.
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
@Jenny1234 totally true....I just had my first and it's really been... exactly what you said. I'm a different person. So in ways I'm happier because I'm a mom but physically I'm definitely not happier
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@Notsimilarreally congratulations!

Motherhood is really not cracked up to be what people make you think it is. I lost myself in it and only now that my kids are older I am able to do more for me and focus a bit more on myself. I hope you don’t lose the person you were like I did
