I am not against anyone, Please understand. Why is it black life matters? When we are all human Does not matter what color you are. Putting black people matter is like cutting out everyone elses life if not that color. God bless all
Saying "Black Lives Matter" doesn't take anything away from me. It's an illogical leap to say this implies other lives do not matter. If you truly believe all lives matter, then you should have no problem agreeing that Black Lives Matter
@JoePourMan oh im not agaist black life matter But why is it more attention on them if the shoe was on the other foot you wouldnt hear so much fuss. Understand
@CHARMAINE do you honestly think you would have the right to vote if not for the Women's Rights movement. I don't think you should feel obligated to work for change, but at least try not to get in the way
I think the notion behind it is discrimination/exclusion in negative ways creates all these problems for groups of people. so they're trying to use discrimination/exclusion in a positive way. which kinda seems like backward thinking to me, but sometimes backwards is needed for a while, I suppose.
@CHARMAINE my feelings are anger, its more like a spoil child having a kicking fit who can't get what they want. Or taking attention off the more important things of what really is happening behind the senses
The slogan Black Lives Matter is meant to bring your attention to the fact that since the first Blacks were brought to the United States in slaves ships, Black have been systematically discriminated against in this country. That this discrimination isn't just the opinion of some individuals but has been written into law and allowed to continue as public policy whether official or not. If whites were routinely stopped by police, denied promotions, murdered without consequences there would be rioting in the streets. The past is not the past when it dictates the attitudes of the present. No one is implying that all lives don't matter, just pleading with you to recognize that black lives matter
@CHARMAINE i agree this officer deserves the chair and either person's color be damned the man was down in cuffs and the cop killed him and is guilty the cop that shot michael brown wasn't
@CHARMAINE Because protests are for the purpose of making people think, calling attention to something. Slogans are meant to jar us, make us think. "All life matters" would not do that. We'd just smile and go on our merry way.
Imagine you're a parent of 2 kids. One of them falls of their bike and breaks an arm. You take the kid to the doctor because at thi moment, although you love your kids equally, the one with the injury needs a little more attention. Doesn't mean you stop loving the othe kid, just you put some extra attention to the one that needs it at the moment.
If you're a Christian, think of the parable of the lost sheep. The shepherd leaves the 99 to find the lost one. It doesn't mean he stops caring for the 99, they are important, but they aren't in trouble. He goes and finds the lost one and returns it to the flock.
You are right there are many people of many races treated unfairly and as second class human beings. I guess #blacklifesmatter relates to one particular situation at this moment in time.
We are not living in past. Why should we keep paying back on what our ancienseries did. Let go and live on to better ourself. We our humans not animals
@ThePerfectUsername no I have lots of black friens, and all nationalities and colors. So if it was a black cop who kill a white you would say white life matters. All life matters. No matter what color I do agree on the cop being punished though. He pushed his limits
@CHARMAINE If a black cop killed a white guy I'd say it was a crime. If 100 black cops killed 100 white guy's I'd say the system needed looking at. If black cops had been killing white guys with impunity for hundreds of years plus denying the equal opportunities wages and justice I'd be joining White Lives Matters. Till then, stop making up excuses to deny that Black Lives Matter.
If you really believe that all lives matter, then saying Black Lives Matter shouldn’t register as anything different on your radar. Black lives are a part of all lives, yes? So by acknowledging that black lives matter you’re really acknowledging that all lives, regardless of skin color, should receive equal treatment and equal protection by the law.
What Black Lives Matter really is trying to get across is, Black Lives Matter, TOO. Think of it that way to realize it isn't cutting other people out. Historically black lives have not been valued by the society at large as if they matter. When people respond to Black Lives Matter with All Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter, it's as if they're denying that a change has to be made to make the treatment of black lives even with others.
The knee-jerk reactions of the masses. The foolish tend to like bandwagons. The next one will be along shortly and they'll jump like fleas to that one as well.
Imagine if you have three photos on the wall. One of the photos has been knocked to the floor. You walk into your home and see the photo on the floor and say "Oh no, that photo belongs on the wall." And then someone corrects you and says "All three of the photos belong on the wall."
Which statement is more accurate to describe the message you meant to convey? Saying that photo belongs on the wall does not mean the two still on the wall need to be removed. It is an acknowledgement that a problem exists. That one of the photos is not where it should be.
People generally agree that all lives matter, except for some who think that no lives matter. The message Black Lives Matter is a response to people treating black lives as if they do not matter as much as other lives. It is addressing the problem that exists. It is not a claim that the other lives should not matter.
@Nika2002 It's not an american thing. Who do you think sold them all those slaves in the first place? It's something that most major white european countries I'm aware of played a part in and it needs addressing there too.
