@SalttyDawg no think it's some weird kink influenced by his work environment

Oh, it’s kinky alright. But nothing weird about it 😛 Just trying to survive 😉😁

Nope, not ever. I need the sheets and when used, blankets to be loose-fitting.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
No one I know in Europe uses a top sheet. We all sleep under duvets. Filled with goose down in my case.
ArtieKat · M
@ninalanyon I've been using fitted bottom sheets for between 40 and 50 years I would guess.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@ArtieKat They never seem to fit properly for me. Perhaps because our double bed is actually two singles bolted together so not quite the right size for king size fitted sheets and impractical for fitting a pair of singles (we'd have to uncouple the beds to change the sheets).
ArtieKat · M
@ninalanyon Sorry to laugh but they are made for standard sizes!
Ah-haha!! Yes! 😂🤣
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
My wife is an RN and does things to our bed that make it quite difficult to get into again 😐
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@SunshineGirl They have inspections in the military. It used to be the case that a coin dropped onto your cot was supposed to bounce, due to the blankets being so taut. I have no idea if they still bother with that.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@DrWatson My dad did basic training with the marines. The regimental sergeant major was once called in to deal with declining standards in bed making. He accused my dad of allowing a "homosexual orgy" to have taken place in his bed and ordered the entire troop to reassemble the barrack room out on the parade square. Dad took more care over making his bed after that 😐
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@SunshineGirl I can't imagine those beds leaving much room for orgies, homosexual or otherwise!
nonsensiclesnail · F
no and I never will!!
.. but it was how I was taught to make a bed. Its cozy. I love sliding into tightly fitted sheets.
But no, that will no longer work for me. I sleep with separate bedding from my husbands, blankets and top sheet and what not. he's a blanket thief and so am I. only when I steel a blanket I use it, where he does not. He just takes it.

he just takes it 😅☠️😭 @nonsensiclesnail
Only when I was in the military.
Piper · 61-69, F
I have before, but almost surely not in a way that would pass muster in a hospital or barracks. Growing up with a dad in the military, doing some things in a meticulous and exacting way is sort of ingrained in me.
I prefer not to use a a cover...flat sheet, these days. I have a soft lightweight comforter, that I can wash just as easily.

I don't even use a flat sheet.

Yes.
I spent a couple summers with my grandparents growing up, and my grandfather could make perfect hospital corners with the sheets, blanket, and quilt. He always made up a bed with a fitted sheet. A top sheet, a blanket, and a quilt.
Every layer was perfectly wrinkle free and smooth everytime he made up a bed. It was like an art to watch. I was very impressed. I asked him to teach me, and that's how I like to make up a bed too. I enjoy the task and take a little pride in the fact that the bed is perfect.
The funny part is that I find it too tight to sleep in, so I always end up pulling part of it out. Lol.

Only in a hospital or nursing home would I make hospital corners. I like the sheets looser at home. I can stick my legs out if I get too hot too.
Repete · 70-79, M
Looks good and use to like the feeling but now I can’t stand sheets or blankets being tight on my feet , sometimes I still do it especially with clean sheets.
I don't make my bed... I prefer to let my sleeping space air throughout the day.

On my sheets, yes, not on my comforter
Orca4950 · 70-79, M
@SW-User comforters are not meant to be tucked in

SW-User
@Orca4950 hence why I don’t do it
akindheart · 61-69, F
i do but not taut. just the basics but i do make the corner
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
Nope - I use a fitted sheet🙂
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
I don’t have time or patience for that
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Not since basic training.
SinlessOnslaught · M
When I WHAT my bed?
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@SinlessOnslaught Sorry! SW does not allow for two-part poll questions! 😄

metaldog · 51-55, F
No too constricting
Applepiedom · 61-69, M
Yes I do

SW-User
always
DiabolicalBear · 31-35, M
Not possible on my bed
I use fitted sheets and never tuck in my top sheets
novaguy2u · 70-79, M
We had to do it that way in the Army, so it's second nature to do it that way now.
666Maggotz · F
I just pull the sheet and blanket to the top. I only do it because my bf does it. I personally never made my bed before living with him. 💀
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
Miss Parker makes them but I don't
GlitterEater · 36-40, F
Not since the crazy drug program
Pinkstarburst · F
Yep. Gotta be able to bounce a quarter off the bed when it’s made.
Convivial · 26-30, F
Make your bed?
That's why doonas were invented😜

No, I stopped doing that when fitted sheets became the norm
