Do you have a Christmas breakfast?

We never really did one. I'd have a piece of toast to hold me until the dinner during the late afternoon. But a Christmas breakfast sounds wonderful.

Yes. My wife has a special recipe for cinnamon rolls baked in a cast iron skillet. We will be out of town this year, so they may be our New Year's Day breakfast.
JustNik · 51-55, F
No, our big meal is around noon or 1. I wouldn’t mind doing it differently, but that works best for everyone. 🤷‍♀
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
Growing up we always had a country ham breakfast on Christmas morning. Country ham, red eye gravy, scrambled eggs, biscuits, country fried potatoes, coffee. Of course jam, jelly and or sorghum molasses.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@MoveAlong How the blazes did you ever have room for Christmas dinner??? Or was that instead of?😷
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman We always had those big breakfasts when we kids were growing up. We had all day to play and would usually go to grandma's house for dinner that evening. Kids are always ready to eat.

No, we have a brunch, usually with a Buck's Fizz or similar which keeps us going till dinner which may not happen till around 5pm. Think it will be oldest daughter and myself doing the cooking. My wife and younger daughtwr will be charged with keeping my mother and law away from the kitchen. She's a bloody awful cook and just gets in the way.
JoyfulSilence · 51-55, M
My mom often served some sort of pastry or cinnamon roll.

I do not know what I will do, unless I can find some place open. There is always gas station food, LOL!
JoyfulSilence · 51-55, M
@Coralmist

I do not have any of that.

I do have frozen potato pancakes, though!

Coralmist · 41-45, F
@JoyfulSilence Those are awesome. I had some last week with an omelette I made. They'd go Nice with steak as well.
JoyfulSilence · 51-55, M
@Coralmist

Unfortunately I could only find them at one store chain. So the next time I went there, I bought two boxes!

My mom does a Christmas brunch now. I think it was a sneaky way to ensure Christmas morning with us. 🤣
Bagels and smoked salmon! Cream cheese and whitefish salad available for those who prefer those toppings.

I'm not against skipping breakfast and staying in bed either.
cashews · 26-30, FNew
We get an orange in our stocking and that does me until the inevitable engorgement on all the food later in the day
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@cashews A traditionalist!.. Oddly enough, my Christmas stocking as a kid was the one time of the year I saw cashew nuts. I still associate them with luxury..😷
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Yes usually bacon and eggs and homefries. As I get older though, I like to save my appetite for dinner.

Christmas Eve dinner starts at 10PM, so croissants for breakfast. Christmas Day, me being Jewish, we do gifts with more pastries for breakfast and Late Chinese lunch/dinner
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Northwest We used to do Chinese on Christmas eve with my aunt.
