Yes. I used to never go to the doctor, tried to avoid it all... Ended up with some issues, the worst was cancer, which surprisingly was an early catch.
I go every year now. I go if I want to get something checked. I get all the tests. IDC if it's uncomfortable and I feel anxious, I have to be well for my kiddo.

@MarbleMarvel I'm so glad they caught it early 🪻.was it cervical cancer? I think you mentioned it but can't recall the type.

Okay, so when I first read your title, I was like "Oh this isn't for me" .... But then I remembered that I turned 30 a few months ago. 🙄
Lol...
Okay, so I've had regular gyn appointments because I (and all the women in my mom's side of the family) have "issues". I've been on the depo injections for over ten years to suppress my cycle and "preserve" my eggs and my fertility in case I ever want to have kids (not going to happen).
But you asked about an annual physical. So, I've been trying to avoid having a "primary care doctor" in addition to the gyn, but a couple years ago (when I left the navy) this was no nlonger possible. My insurance required a PCP and the PCP wouldn't accept me as a patient without an annual physical. So now I am wasting healthcare dollars for a physical I don't need because the rules say I have to have one. 🤷♀

@sarabee1995 Oh do you mean you get the basics done anyway at your Gyn appointment?
sarabee1995 · 26-30, FVIP
@Coralmist Well, kinda. For years my gyn was my only regular doctor (other than random Navy doc's for required stuff in the service). But once I was off active duty and on private insurance I was required to choose a PCP and my Gyn couldn't be the PCP for insurance reasons ... so I now have a PCP. And that doctor pretty much insists on an annual physical (which is a waste of my time).

It's every other year and somehow I always have some problem, so when I come there, they just do that along it. But they don't even test much, tbh.
The benefit of having full check up is that I can have some meds fully covered by the insurance.

I don’t but I do regular blood screening for various things and anything that’s off I make an appointment to see my doctor.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
I have crossed that age group, but would advise regular check ups. ✔

For me there’s a yearly check up. They just test your blood and then tell results from it and everything and if you got aches or pains and that’s about it. Checks your blood pressure your heart feels my feet and my legs. See if they swollen up or anything other than that there is no such thing as a 100% complete physical because nowadays they just wanna get patients in and out as quick as they can and get the money.

Scared to. I did a physical test thing on a wii game, it said I was 80 years old! I'd hate to think what a health professional would say...😟
