How long does an average friendship last on here

A few months at best for me. The last few were only like a week or so. I try not to take it personally, but it still sucks to feel like you weren't good enough.

Truth is, you're not going to be everybody's cup of tea. Appreciate the human interaction while it lasts and don't hold it against them if they just weren't feeling it. This place isn't like the real world. You can't pick up on body language, tone, or facial expressions. You can't pick some place to hang out or some mutual activity to do share. We can't even really pick a time to meet. All you can do is exchange thoughts and try to understand each other better. There's only really so much you can say before you starting running out of words.

Expectations are the path to disappointment. Just enjoy the company you get and try not to force anybody into a role. If people really vibe with you, you'll hear from them again sooner or later

But people do come and go, my advice is to not take it personally, wish them the best and just move on

I come here ro read and respond. Kill time. Know viewpoints. Many familiar people are there. Known them for many years.

Never tried to make friends. Never tried private chats. But yes there are quite a few people of both sexes here who are always nice to me. And i have known them for quite some time. Commenting on same posts. Like minded views. Sometimes differences.

What is average when friendships never happen?

You better find some purpose to attract friends if you are serious about it. Online is all haunted. You need a good mix of outdoor and online. PM me if you want to do something about it.

I have had some friends on here for years never seen them in real life. But talk with them on here it’s probably the best way as well

I've known several people from here multiple years. They're also the best friends I've ever had.

Everything is short term. That is why I don't get too close for fear of opening up to a mistake later. I just go with the flow and enjoy myself as I explore the SW path

That's not a friendship. Friendships form over years through hanging around each other and gathering memories together. Then one day you realize that you've been consistently getting along with this chap for over 2 years so there must be something to it.

i've been on here since dec 2022 and have been friends with a few since day number 1....they know who they are and i'm sure we'll be friends forever

I have friends on here that date back to 2008 EP. And others of various lengths. I also have friends that have left here.

I have a few friends on here who have been regular chat partners for three or more years.

Ive had friends for 12+ years going back to the website that shut down before this one

The term “average friendship” is pretty nebulous.
