I was raised jewish but don't follow it
Eklipse · F
Raised Roman Catholic I got issues with the church -.- serious ones
DDonde · 31-35, M
@Eklipse Same.
Hassan · 22-25, M
@Eklipse ] when they killed black cats , claiming they're evil right?😬
Eklipse · F
@Hassan That was animal cruelty. More on a personal level for me.
Yes I was raised Muslim. I left it behind when I was 19.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether well done, that’s got to be the toughest cult to leave.
@pianoplayingsteve True that. You can't even have normal friendships anymore.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether what do you mean? We can pm if you like

@Neurotoxin Did you know frogs can be Jewish? 🐸
QueenOfZaun · 26-30, F
Raised Greek Orthodox Christian.

Even as a child I never bought into it.
pride49 · 31-35, M
@QueenOfZaun was a benefit of heaven, watching your enemies burn in hell for all eternity? I read that somewhere
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
Yeah I was baptised as a baby but realized I don't believe at 13.

I was raised christian and I don't denounce it but I don't follow it now
TheFragile · 46-50, M
I was raised Roman Catholic. I am now a nondenominational Christian.
reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
I was raised Christian but abandonned it because too much of it makes no sense. in reality, when I was young I trully wanted to know God and one day I realized that there is no way the bible properly represents the true God. now I think that if there is a god the bible is an insult to this god in the way that it represents it.
Raised Catholic but left the church many years ago. I figured it made no sense to remain when I no longer believe most of what they teach.
Wyocowboy · M
I was raised a heathen. Lol
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
Yes .I was raised a seventh day Adventist but now I’m more like a free spirit , but I still believe in a Rest Day. Nothing wrong with weekly R&R
Neurotoxin · 31-35, M
@Heavenlywarrior same i believe in a restday as well that's something the jews got right
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@Neurotoxin yes body needs it!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
I was raised atheist. I became Christian. I no longer practice or follow atheism.
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
@hippyjoe1955 Lol I'm the opposite - was sort of 'christianised' then became religious then dumped religion so I have the benefit of both sides of the fence. I've never been dunk dunked and none of my children have ever been 'churchified'. Even my 5 y/o. My ex and I have actually *agreed* on something without fighting to not put our daughter in religious education classes at primary school from next yr (it's free choice to elect one way or the other here now).
Greyjedi · M
@hippyjoe1955 no its the absence of religion
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Greyjedi religion has nothing to do with a god. It is a belief system. I gave up on being an atheist when I realized I didn't have enough faith.

Church of England Christian. I’m not religious and don’t really follow it but I’m not going to say I’m atheist either. I’m open to the idea. However I prefer to rely on my own destiny rather than god.
iamelijah · 26-30, M
I was raised Muslim but stop around 20. I rarely practicing it. The only thing that keeps me practicing it because it was mandatory.
MrGomco · 36-40, M
I was raised Catholic but I don't follow that religion anymore, I haven't been interested in that stuff for a long time.
chrisCA · M
I was raised Catholic, but don't practice it.
I will attend Mass on special occasions with family though.
Ducky · 31-35, F
I was raised Roman Catholic, but quit following religion in my teen years.
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
Atheist - a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods

Agnostic - a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God.

So in many ways most of us who are irreligious are a mixture of both - there is no god/gods and there is no evidence to prove the existence of god/gods (in a way which can be related to human existence).
Quimliqer · 70-79, M
Was raised Lutheran but have moved to a freer way of thinking.
MoonMoon · F
technically i am baptized as a lutheran... but thats just on paper
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
Not really - I don't remember if either of my parents were religious but I adopted being a Baptist in my teenage years and then when I got to early 20's I saw through all the hypocrisy of Christianity and have been irreligious ever since.

I've never been married so all my kids are 'illegitimate' in terms of religion.
AbbeyP · 70-79, F
I was raised non Christian but now am Christian
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
AbbeyP · 70-79, F
Very intelligent reply!@pianoplayingsteve
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
I was raised as a christian but I haven't been to church in years. I still respect it, I just don't go. I really don't think about it tbh.
@Spoiledbrat Catholic?
Belladonna · 41-45, F
I was raised Christian/Wiccan/Celtic... Grew up to think most of it's bullshit. The connection to nature is nice, though.
Catholic. I’m an atheist now. I guess culturally I still identify with being Catholic in a way.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Vaguely Anglican, not very fervently, but I stopped believing in God when I was about 12.
ScrewThisImDone · 26-30, F
My sister and I went to daycare at a church for several years, but I'm an atheist and I have no clue what she is
Adstar · 56-60, M
I was raised in the catholic religion but now i am a Christian..
MonaReeves86 · 36-40, F
What is the difference @Adstar
Adstar · 56-60, M
@MonaReeves86
The catholic religion is a works salvation religion.. like most other world religions really.. It's about doing good deeds and resisting doing bad deeds, about reaching a certain level of goodness that will get you into heaven by passing the test..

Christianity is about believing Jesus and trusting in the Atonement Jesus secured by His death on the cross.. It's a grace salvation religion.. where you get saved by having all your faults / bad deeds forgiven.. You don't make the grade by being good enough.. You make the grade because all your transgressions are forgiven..
Yes, I always liked the concept of God but not the man made rules of a religion.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Not really -- pretty much an atheist from as far back as I can remember.
robb65 · 56-60, M
Raised Baptist, left Christianity altogether in my 40's.
Isthisit · F
Raised christian but dont follow it now. Still believe in god though.
Catholic raised....atheist😀
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@TheSirfurryanimalWales stupid atheist. Thinking nothing created everything from nothing and then a cell appeared which turned into a whale which then climbed onto land and evolved into a person. What nonsense. Next youll be telling me that noah couldnt get all 3500 species of woodlice on his boat. Im just saying pray on it with an honest heart.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I was raised Anglican but do not follow it
pride49 · 31-35, M
Raised Christian but now idgaf
Greyjedi · M
Yep, Christian
I was raised religious but was rebellious as a youth but nowadays I'm mellowing out somewhat
scorpio611 · 41-45, MVIP

Neurotoxin · 31-35, M
@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays yeah something like that. i dont like being told what to do by some stupid old book
DDonde · 31-35, M
Yeah I gave it up around age 21 or so
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Christmas and Easter Christian. I went through a long time of agnosticism and then converted to Zoroastrianism three years ago.
MonaReeves86 · 36-40, F
I’m raised as a Baha’i I don’t pray or fast but I like my religion
MonaReeves86 · 36-40, F
Neurotoxin · 31-35, M
@MonaReeves86 just didn't feel it was for me. I hated going to the synagogue, i never felt i got anything out of it. I believe im more of a spiritual person and not an organized religion person
caesar7 · 61-69, M
Catholic and don't practice it.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@caesar7 you’ll get rusty if you don’t practice it
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M

MonaReeves86 · 36-40, F

pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
