Seems that we got to a point where the main obstacle for communication is no more language but not shared assumptions.
To begin with about the nature of some of the entities you named.

Like "object" that you seem to equate with "thing" (res in latin) when I was referring to it (objectum) as the "what about" of thought that is not identical to the idea of it.
Like "external" to thought but cos of the same internal to reality.

And yes, any assertion / idea about something haves only secondary qualities ultimately provided by the meaning of the thing in itself.

We don´t seem to attibute same meaning to "ego" that once disrobbed of First Philosophies mean the concious part of our identities.

And what haves or should have priority when communicating are not the "egos" but the opposite.
What haves meaning regardless who says it.

So no, I´m not meaning what you suggested I do.
But neither what may have some sense in your mindset.

So, with my full respect I don´t see this dialog being or becoming fruitful

My trully best wishes.

French, so I could read Arthur Rimbaud's poetry in its original form.

Both approaches may provide a better understanding.
Knowing an author (and I know a few) while talking in the same language gives you a view of their inner perspective.
But each language also carry nuances that not always have a direct translation. "Traduttore, traditore".
And "asking" to them to speak Spanish only shows the other side of same "problem".

I'm trying to learn Spanish now but don't take it as seriously as I planned to. 😅 I feel like not much really stays in my head.

SW-User
French just because of my heritage
SW-User
You are of French descent? @SW-User
SW-User
Yes my Father was French
SW-User
Sweet! 👍 @SW-User
Spanish I guess. One would think I already know it, but being born with blonde hair and blue eyes no one spoke spanish to me.😂😂 How messed up is that!?🤣

I learned both. I took six years of French in school, and picked up pidgin Spanish at one of my jobs without learning how to read or write in Spanish.

In retrospect, I wish I had six years of Spanish or Portuguese because there are people around here who speak those languages. No one near here speaks French.

Spanish would be more useful in the area I live in.
Milkshake · F

Funlov · M
I’m a Canadian so we speak French and English
DrWatson · 70-79, M
I sorta know Spanish. I would like to know French better than I do.
HairbrushDiva · 31-35, F
I already learned French in school, and our French teacher really was French. Her name was Marie Tessier, she liked to be addressed as Mademoiselle Tessier. I haven't thought about Spanish but there are one or two colleges in the area that offer courses in it for people who want to learn it.
Spanish no doubt
SW-User
Why would you choose español? @boklenholley7
@SW-User I've always wanted to learn it. I love the sound of the language, and I already know quite a bit. French sounds ridiculous to me.

Spanish, simply because it would be useful to me. One of my best friends(family really) is Mexican and several members of his family dont speak much English. (Just improving my Latin currently though) as my own language is still being built☺
Wiseacre · F
I’ve knowledge of both, but Spanish is definitely easier to learn!
Wiseacre · F

Spanish would be more useful where I live, but I love and learned French.
Spanish, it’s everywhere, and it’s a beautiful language.
I wish my Spanish was better. It’s a more useful language in the US.
Funlov · M
In Canada most of us speak English and French
AnonymousJSS · 22-25, F
I already know Spanish, so I guess French (only if I HAD to though).
I already speak Spanish regularly so French.
ScarletWitch · 31-35, F
I took both classes. I hated both. French was easier. But jobs require bilingual in Spanish. It's too backwards for me. And my tongue can't pronounce the words that seem like sounds to me. Gibberish even.

@Neurotoxin I flunked Spanish.
DDonde · 31-35, M
Spanish, mostly because I've learned it before and I would want to see if I could make it into a marketable skill.
passingby8 · 31-35, F
@DDonde how so? :o
If u pay me we can split the money u make from it :p
DDonde · 31-35, M
