What are your views on practical jokes?

Too far isn't far enough OR they can be too much for the faint of heart?

Matt85 · 36-40, M
I hate it when the prankster makes the other person think they are doing a fun little challange but then they get PUNKED. I just don't like to see trust be abused like that.
@Matt85

Fair enough. This may not be the same thing but I don't like those bum fight videos. NOT funny at all.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@rinkydinkydoink My friend told me about that show. It's amazing that it actually got airtime.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
Both. Some just plain insensitive and more sick than funny. Some can be over the top and funny as all get out for that very reason. But keep in mind where the funniest comedians of not to recent past because the woke political righteous boos them off the stage
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@rinkydinkydoink and yes that's the side booing comedians off the stage. I like you said don't believe there should any comedian censorship. If someone doesn't like it avoid it. But don't try to shut it down for everyone else.
@Gibbon

We go to comedy performances to enjoy ourselves, to laugh and to see the world in a not-so-serious way. Now I get what you're saying. Let NO political entity have any part in telling us what we can enjoy in our free time. The time-worn phrase "It's a free country" should mean just as much now as it ever has :D
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@rinkydinkydoink exactly and I believe the whole cancel culture effort needs to be shut down
JustDJ76 · 46-50, M
Life is to short to be serious all the time. Just laugh a little. It’ll make you feel better.
@JustDJ76

I was going for the practical jokers and not so much for the potty-mouth guys like Jim Norton and the late Patrice O'Neal (both of whom are/were as funny as Hell) 😂
JustDJ76 · 46-50, M
@rinkydinkydoink Oh ok. But yes. I can take a practical joke but it is better to give than to receive. 😂
@JustDJ76

Fer sure!!
smiler2012 · 56-60
@rinkydinkydoink i like them practical jokes long as they are harmless and cause no person offence . but i do not want too be a stiff but that one is rather in bad taste lol
@smiler2012

I understand. And you didn't make a big deal about it which is much appreciated.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
They were fun when I was a kid.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
@rinkydinkydoink On Scout Camps we could get inventive:
The old take down the tent whilst their sleeping was a good one.
Tying someone to the bed at night.
Shaving cream in their shoes.
Moving the sleepers in the tent to a different location.
Gladwraping the toilet seat.
And yes, one kid nicked a pair of undies from all us fellas and folded them into the flag. So when we 'broke the flag' in the morning a shower of undies came out. 🤣
@Thevy29

No Crest toothpaste in a sleeper's hair? LOL
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
@rinkydinkydoink Never thought of that. 😅
2ndtimeguy · 61-69, M
Minor and harmless just for fun where all can laugh afterwards
@2ndtimeguy

That would be ideal.
I don't think that exhausts the universe of possibilities.

I think that they are best contained to an appreciative group.

Were I to be pranked by A. Kutcher, I'd hit him and sue him.
People have been killed for going too far, so it's not advised.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@NativePortlander1970 yup and for our best comedians they are reforming for alien audiences these days and can't freely perform without criticism instead of fun filled laughter evening.
