I used to believe that belly buttons were used to feed babies before birth

I also believed that actors had to re-record their performances for every rerun of a show. I didn't know they filmed them.

At about the age of 5,I thought that if an egg was kept for a time and not eaten,a chick would eventually peck its way out.So I took an egg from the kitchen,hid it under my bed in hopes that a chick would hatch out - after a week or so my mother found the egg and wondered why on earth I had put it there!

I only understood two states of being: alive or dead.
So I surmised with my four year old brain, that before I was born, since I wasn’t alive, I’d been dead.

My parents had a heck of a time explaining how that was an incorrect assumption. 🤨

I thought dogs were muscular and wearing shirts with rolled up sleeves and walking on two legs. Because a dog looked like that in a story book I had called "The coward mouse" where this mousse tells a dog to beat up a cat that annoyed him.

Not funny but I used to believe that war meant that barely anybody survived, every single person was affected in a very bad way and that every city looked like ruins from the most affected areas. Like everything was destroyed, burnt out etc.

I also thought that those abandoned structures of panel buildings where the homeless, junkies and punks gathered were former burnt out buildings where something horrible happened, people died etc.

If I dig a hole deep enough, I’ll end up in China.

If I eat a watermelon seed, a watermelon will grow in my stomach.

If I play with my belly button too much, it will become untied and my skin will fall off.

If the ice cream truck is playing music, it means they’re out of ice cream. Thanks mom. 😒

Was staying at a hotel with my parents and they told me that the thermostat was a bomb.

for years after that I was terrified and even tantrum cried anytime anyone went to touch a thermostat at a hotel 😂

That tiny people existed. I used to watch a cartoon called The Littles and i thought it was real. I used to look for them.

I used to believe the "news" media told the truth. Then I grew up, and realized that it's a manipulation tool, used to push an agenda.

I believed the trees touched the clouds and people could be trusted.

🤔🤔🤔 Well, my older brother told me that my mother was really an evil witch, who had kidnapped us, and that our real mother was out there someone, a good, kind and sweet mother, looking for us. I did believe that for a while.
