Who is your very best friend IRL and why?

My bestie Sara. We’ve been friends since we were kids and we’ve built a relationship on trust, shared interests and mutual silliness. She’s my closest (mostly) platonic relationship.

My best friend of the last 44 years. We’ve seen each other through marriages (widowhood for me, divorce for her), children, life changes. Our families became friends, and we both helped each other deal with the deaths of our mothers this year, within a month of each other.

We weren’t constantly in each other’s presence, either, we’ve gone off to live different parts of our lives over the years. But we’ve always kept in touch, and whenever either needed the other, we were there.

My husband is my best friend.

It was my dog. She's been gone for 13 years now. I miss her every day.

A guy I met when we moved to Texas 30+ years ago. His wife is my wife's bestie. We helped raise each other's children. He and I play golf together every week. We share the same value system and rely on each other when the need arises.

My best friend is a guy I met at work more than 25 years ago. We have some similar interests — we're both geeks, we're both tech nerds, we're both proud and opinionated liberals, we both have somewhat warped and perverted senses of humor and such. During COVID, we got into having weekly video meetings just to keep in touch, and we've continued that. I think we've both just become the other's brother that we never had.

My SO is also my best friend. He understands me like no one else does, and is open and honest with me, allowing me to understand him. He respects me, and is unfailingly considerate of my feelings. He is always there for me, and is the most caring and loving man I've ever known.

One of my sisters. We can be blunt with one another, joke around, and our focus is betterment of ourselves, so we’re honest with one another and don’t play catty games. When I do well, she’s glad; and vise versa. When I’m wrong, she lets me know and we discuss it. When she’s wrong, I can say so and it’s not the end of our communication.

I don't really have close friends anymore, my bf is the closest thing to a best friend that I have. I also have a friend in Pennsylvania who I guess I'd call a close friend, even though we're far apart. We were best friends and roommates for 10 years before going our separate ways. I talk to her twice a month on the phone.

A buddy from high school. One of the only people I fully trust. We've gone through a lot together over the years, including our common battle with cancer the last couple of years

If family counts, then my sister. If not, then I guess my wife. Though we're more frenemies nowadays.

My best friend died in August of 2021, few months after covid vaccine. No more best friend.

No one, by choice. Figuratively speaking, there is not one person on this planet (except myself) that wouldn't throw me or anybody else under a bus for a dollar.

My friend for over 30 years ...no expectations and mutual respect...having the same fucked up sense of humor helps too

I actually have two guys who share the title. They're both musicians and huge fans of music. One plays the drums(as I do) and I was in the other guy's band for a decade.
