I'll bet nobody would agree with me, and probably never even heard of this, and might think I'm a failure in the wine world, but I love this one:

I only drink this wine馃槄

@SW-User Goat and lamb stew? Interesting.
cherokeepatti61-69, F
I can鈥檛 drink it due to the salicylate acid wreaking havoc and causing deposits in my knees

It鈥檚 hard to pick a favorite. I love so many, and it depends on what I鈥檓 eating.

I love Champagne, of course. 馃槉馃嵕 I also love Bordeaux blends, Nebbiolo, and earthy Pinot Noirs from Burgundy and Oregon.

Yes, I cook with wine, but I cook with wine I鈥檇 actually drink. Cook with wine you like not cheap/bad wine. 馃槃

@ChampagneOnIce Great, in-depth reply! 馃尮

I love red blends, my favorite is California, Estancia Meritage from the Paso Robles region. Also Cabernet Sauvignon from the same region. J Lohr is a very nice be wine at an affordable price.
samueltyler280-89, M
@ProfessorPlum77 blends from a good "house" is incredibly consistent. That is why Estancia Meritage is our ,"go to" wine
ProfessorPlum7770-79, MVIP
@samueltyler2 You sound well-informed on the subject.
samueltyler280-89, M
@ProfessorPlum77 I know what I like.

I do cook with wine, but wine I'd enjoy drinking if I still drank wine.

I preferred white wine, dry.

I don鈥檛 drink too much wine but I would usually go for the red ones the most.
Andromedanian22-25, M
I don't drink, am thinking on cooking some spaghetti for dinner and the recipe does involve red wine though. I'm thinking bout including it or skipping that ingredient, hehe
ProfessorPlum7770-79, MVIP
@Andromedanian What decision did you come to?
Andromedanian22-25, M
@ProfessorPlum77 I skipped the wine. Turned out okay, although I may try it with wine later on
ProfessorPlum7770-79, MVIP
@Andromedanian [c=800000]If you do, let me know which is better. [/c]

I'm not a great wine drinker but prefer Reds, like a Merlot. I don't cook with it but use it when blending spices when making a venison breakfast sausage. (Okay, sometimes there is a little wine for the sausage maker too.)
ProfessorPlum7770-79, MVIP
@bowman81 It sounds good.
CookieCrumbsF
Merlot or Pinot Noir for reds. No Shiraz for me.

I like most Ontario Riesling and German Gewurztraminer whites.

Yes, I cook with wine. Some dishes will never be the same without it.
ProfessorPlum7770-79, MVIP
@CookieCrumbs An impressive list.
Ducky31-35, F
Not a big wine drinker, so I don鈥檛 really have a favorite, but I do cook with it. For that, I just grab whatever good quality (I hope, lol) wine I find.
TranquilLife56-60, F
A nice red splash of Cabernet Sauvignon is perfect addition to pasta sauce like bolognaise yum yum yum 馃嵎
th3r0n41-45, M
I don't think I have cooked with wine, maybe once

I like sweet red wine and I like sweet white wine

I used to drink wine a long time ago...usually Blue Nun, which is on the sweetish side. I used to keep a bottle or two of red and white and sherry wine in the house for cooking, but it's an expensive ingredient, so...not any more.
ProfessorPlum7770-79, MVIP
@4meAndyou I understand.
LilymoonF
Merlot and yes
DearAmbellina211341-45, F
White Zinfandel 馃槏

Pinot Grigio.
