@NinaTina I love mom's house
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I have been homeless. My "go to" meal was a hotdog bun with cheese and lettuce. (I worked at a sandwich shop and those were the only things I could eat that they wouldn't charge me for.)
SilkenHippie · 51-55, F
@DearAmbellina2113 I understand I have been homeless to. I was a teenage run away
sree251 · 41-45, M
@SilkenHippie Why did you run away, Silky?
SilkenHippie · 51-55, F
@sree251 Biggest reason; I didn't want to live under my parents rules. I thought they where too strict
SilkenHippie · 51-55, F
Grocery store dumpster
@sree251 Wrong.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@JimboSaturn This conversation is about homelessness. Teenagers, like Pinnochio who was influenced by woke Wolfy, leave home for Pleasure Islands. Those lucky one come to their senses and return to the safety of their families.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Pitchblue Explain why wrong.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
Id find a homeless shelter which serves dinner to the homeless, whatever they serve id eat.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@FreeSpirit1 Don't dismiss food pantries. There meals are much better than those of folks on this forum.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@FreeSpirit1 there’s a couple of places here that doesn’t turn anyone away and they serve 3 meals a day
SW-User
Nothing, because if I was approaching homelessness, I'd stop eating. I lose my appetite easily when under stress.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@SW-User Back in the 2008 financial crash, there was this high flying businessman with his mansion and fancy cars. He killed his wife and children and hung himself. Apparently, he lost everything in that crash and was buried in debt he could never repay. Come to think of it, I have always admired the wolf of Wall Street, Jordan Belfort and still do. He has to repay debt to the tune of $100 million or so.

@sree251 I've lived long enough to remember several stock market crashes. In one, some of the people we knew lost all of their retirement, due to risky investments. Scary.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@SW-User Yes, very scary. This is why I stay away from the stock market.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
fruits including apples and bananas. when you're that poor you have to eat with purpose.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
I've been homeless. The dole was only $120 a fortnight. (Which was f#ck all even then.) I knew of a place that sold the fruits and vegetables that the supermarkets wouldn't take at very low prices. I could fill a shopping bag for $2. With some lentils or a bit of rice and some stock cubes. I was able to make a stew hotpot each day.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Thevy29 Yes, very hectic. You have your mother and can move in with her till you get a job. Do you get along with her?
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
@sree251 With difficulty. The woman's a pain. 😅
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Thevy29 Money. Give her money to pay for groceries. Fix any issues her house has. Pay the property taxes.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
I was homeless. I used to go to the Hare Krishna temple. They would feed you and we did some chanting. A fair exchange.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@Entwistle It depends on what the perspective is. If you see differences, then there are differences; otherwise, there are none.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@sree251 That's not the case here at all.
sree251 · 41-45, M

Bushes beans 😋
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
I'd pluck berries and mushrooms in the summer and fall and in the winter I'd go to the shelters that offers food.
icedsky · 51-55, M
Currently it would have to be assorted fruit trees, Bazillion apple and pear trees in my area. A few peach and plum. Seafood. Can always catch something in puget sound. Maybe one ugly fish but its edible. Know a couple good clean clamming areas and theres always a few Dungeness crabs to be caught.
SW-User
@icedsky I loved the Puget Sound. Born and raised in the Seattle area. I miss those times :)
icedsky · 51-55, M
@SW-User Its changed quite a bit
SW-User
@icedsky I bet it has. My nephew lives there, he tells me I would get lost there now.

Beans are always good .@AthrillatheHunt
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Repete tuna and salmon in a can are good too .
Repete · 61-69, M
I can catch my fish most of the time. 😂 living on the coast has its advantages.@AthrillatheHunt
Repete · 61-69, M
Here summer would be easier , you can almost live off the land with fish and wild berries and things .

This past spring I picked up cans just because I was bored in a week I had over 200 dollars worth but that wouldn’t be every week.
I’m just saying it would be possible but hard way to live.
deadteddy · 26-30, F
Hot dogs and street food most likely
SW-User
I was homeless in Seattle over a summer many years ago and I remember atleast for a time I would treat myself to a Wendy's Frosty every day..
SW-User
@SW-User From Seattle, too eh? I got my best ideas from talking to homeless people. Also, lots of free coffee at AA meetings
Purplerain78 · 41-45, F
Assuming I could afford it a maccies or dominos pizza.
Failing that a nice roast dinner lol
SW-User
@Purplerain78 No kidding, good calll
Carissimi · 70-79, F
If I were homeless, would I have money to buy food? My go to meal would have to be whatever I could afford.
Homelessness doesn't mean one can't get shelter and cook for self or get to order for stuff.
Mardrae · F
Whatever was fed to me in the shelters or whatever anyone brought for me.

Cyanide pill. 💀
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
If I was homeless, I would have found a job first of all, and with my work experience wouldnt have been a very long wait and lived in a shelter home and eaten what they had provided, in the meantime.
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
@cherokeepatti World is not ending till we have good people around. 🤗
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Donotfolowme they encourage those women and help build them up so they have confidence to get a job and get on with their lives. They will help them with clothing and other essentials. Some have fled from their abusers with only the clothes they are wearing and maybe their purse
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
@cherokeepatti I know someone like that and now she is a Dr in a hospital. She was very talented but always under estimated.
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
trash bins of restaurants, or grocery stores, the food waste in the US is staggering
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@sree251 Well thats why i listed those places who have a fuck ton of food waste, and when desperate your "pickiness" on what is edible goes out the window
sree251 · 41-45, M
@DiegoWolfe Have you ever been homeless? Are you dreaming stuff up or speaking from experience?
DiegoWolfe · 36-40
@sree251 I have had friends who were homeless

@MarmeeMarch lol dont fear the cops. Theyre just people like you and me. Their title is cop but they just follow the paper work. There is thousands of people that know how to work around the cops you just dont hear about them because theyre good at being sneaky. And if your homeless going to jail is a positive thing sometimes. Especially in the winter. You get free food and shelter on the tax payers dime. Talk to other inmates and get better at getting away with it. Cops follow a protocol. If you know the protocol you can find ways around it. Know your advisaries.

Jail is just gangster school paid for by you.
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
@MarmeeMarch youve never actually seen a gangster have you?
