Why do you think that rain water is uncontaminated when it falls from the sky where you live?

@swirlie I live near the east coast of Australia, and the winds that bring the rain come across the entire Pacific ocean. There is hardly any industry near me. Any risk is very minimal.

@MasterLee Spring water would be better for you as distilled doesn't contain minerals.

@trackboy Mainly tea, often coffee, sometimes fruit juice. I don't drink anything alcoholic now very often at all and then it's usually ale. I like the odd glass of wine with a meal. or whisky but those are rare.

I don't need filter our tap-water. It is safe to drink as it is, and holds nothing that a filter can remove.

It has been treated properly to make it drinkable directly from the tap. The water in our area is "hard" (i.e. contains dissolved calcium carbonate from the Chalk hills that are most of its source aquifer) but does not contain solid particles. The only artificially-added chemical is a tiny trace of chlorine, <2ppm, as a precautionary disinfectant.

@darkmere1983 That says to me that your local municipal water has an off taste. Not all "tap water" tastes the same!

@Ducky no, but as a human that is made up of roughly 60% of water it's good to replenish.
Ducks are 52%.
