I don't drink plain water - straight from the tap - regularly but I've certainly no qualms about doing so.

@trackboy Mainly tea, often coffee, sometimes fruit juice. I don't drink anything alcoholic now very often at all and then it's usually ale. I like the odd glass of wine with a meal. or whisky but those are rare.
I don't need filter our tap-water. It is safe to drink as it is, and holds nothing that a filter can remove.
It has been treated properly to make it drinkable directly from the tap. The water in our area is "hard" (i.e. contains dissolved calcium carbonate from the Chalk hills that are most of its source aquifer) but does not contain solid particles. The only artificially-added chemical is a tiny trace of chlorine, <2ppm, as a precautionary disinfectant.
