I love them both but fried chicken can make you feel bloated afterwards. Baked chicken is lighter fare. Fried also makes a bigger mess and is more work to prepare in my experience.

Get KFC. Everyone seems to like their fried chicken. I don't...but I have unusual taste.

BBQ is best - but indoors I like to brown it in a pan then finish it in the oven - cast iron skillet is ideal for that...

How about juicy smoker chicken? Takes a while but OMG!

Actually I prefer grilled to either baked or fried.

Of the two choices I think baked. Sometimes barbecue is really good too. But my favorite would be the one I make from the YouTube recipe in my instant pot. It's a blend of sauteed, pressure cooked and air fried. A little bit of each.

If your family gathering is an outdoor thing, then fried. It's easier to eat and not as messy.
If it's a more formal indoor gathering, baked or roasted chicken would be classier.

Fried. It can be a bit more technical, but it pays off if you got a delicious fried chicken batter.

Personally, I enjoy both at times.

On a universal level you likely will find most favor fried.
